was reading up on the monkees car from the tv show, seems pontiac gave them 2 GTO's to make one for show other for touring on car show circuit. they originally had working blowers but turns out were just to dangerous to drive, so blowers were taken off and hollow ones put on for looks. well one of the GTO's had seen previous tv time, it was driven my major nelson on I dream of jenie, guess back then the big car companies must have just loaned them out for publicity then gotten them back.
hey it boring day just watching it rain, gotta look up something, and even the boring is interesting......

I knew the blowers were just covering the carb but did not know they had them in action at one time .
even now a GTO wagon  convertible , what a great cruising car that would be
didn't George Barris build it also he did a lot of the TV cars . ( and a true great in his own right )
I guess barris claimed to have built it though Dean Jeffries actually did build both cars in 4 weeks time, I think there was a little bad blood between them as hot rod builders...... it had 4 bucket seats and the trunk was converted to an half oval bench seat so the car could seat 9
