Going down Jackrabbit into Belgrade, at the intersections the road pavement goes from asphalt to concrete. Why is this,to prevent washboarding the intersection??

Mostly because of trucks and the weights, when a truck hard brakes it can distort the blacktop and cause ruts. Wish they would have just poured the entire stretch but I can live with it, that was a major improvement!

Thanks. That's all I could come up with but still it was just a guess. I wasn't sure.

It was a good idea, the amount of trucks running that road those intersections would be terrible in about a year. Jackrabbit is much nicer now being 4 lane the entire way. Told wifey that was one construction zone I was not complaining about, what an improvement!!

I remember it being a narrow two lane all the way, with no shoulders and deep ditches. Yeah, great improvement.
