Also temps below freezing so winterized the camper and getting garden hoses drained/rolled up. Also blew the rain gutters out so clean, changed furnace filter (every 3 months), put new filter in the whole house humidifier so ready to go, winterized the pressure washer in the garage, etc.

Still have to put the deck chairs away, get the snowblower out, service the vehicles (except the Harley Davidson) and a dozen or so other things.

Gotta get busy........... :D

Tomorrow night here. Already have the flower beds cleaned out, the blow snower fuel bought, and we just had our (probable) last evening cocktail of the year on the front porch rocking chairs. The kayak is cleaned and drained for storage, and my golf clubs are cleaned - but I'm hoping for at least one more round...
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Crappy day, yesterday my 91 pickup popped the bypass hose and lost coolant, had to have the wife tow me home. Too late to get the hose so I have to drive my 79 pickup to work, however it needs work too! Just replaced all major brake parts (master cyl, calipers, wheel cyls and shoes/pads) and bled the brakes but have not test driven. It also needs a steering box, it is worn out and sloppy. Wake up this morn, nasty wind and blowing snow. Made it to town and roads turned to patchy ice. Discovered that one rear brake is tight, touch the pedal and that wheel locks up. Steering box makes for an interesting ride in the wind with ice. Got to Norris hill and the road was closed due to a jacknifed truck, called the boss and was told to take the day off. Now I?m sitting here waiting on the parts store to open so I can get the parts to fix the 91! Brrrrr it?s cold out here!!

Good luck as the pheasant population is down considerably.

With government promotion & ethanol subsidy, the farmers are planting road ditch to road ditch, ripping out fences and bulldozing tree groves planted in the 40's to eliminate the dust bowl effects of the dirty 30's w/o replanting them ... plant corn and beans instead seeking the almighty dollar. Also, the use of pesticides, crop spraying chemicals, treated seeds, etc. have taken a toll on the wildlife population.

I quit hunting deer due to sick deer and quit pheasant hunting decades ago too, last ones didn't taste good.

So ... more for you. I'm happy and so are you.

I LOVE climate change ....... that is the seasonal changes of spring to summer to fall to winter that occurs annually.

The cold and snow is a welcome break from the heat & humidity of the summer.

The predicted cold front passed through here an hour ago. Temp has already dropped 10? and the north wind has picked up. Oops, make that 12? - so says my weather station. Hard freeze warning out until noon Friday.

Our one-week rifle deer season opens on the 19th. Hunters will be delighted to know bucks will be moving down to lower and warmer slopes.

Addendum: Here in Ogden, we got about nine flakes drifting down. Salt Lake City (35 miles south) looks like it got the "benefit" of lake effect because while I was watching those nine flakes up here, the sky down south was black.
