Sam, the harbor really is nastier than I have words for. Some years back, a Navy unit, best known for their skills in the water, were in town as part of a training rotation. We were able to spend a few days learning techniques for boarding vessels under way etc. from them. Due to the filthy, chemically contaminated water, a number of their group had to be sent for significant medical treatment due to the exposures in that cesspool. Several commented it was one of the filthiest places they?d dived in anywhere.
