AR15 sights recommendation

I went to the range with my daughter and son in law Wednesday night and we took her AR15 for the first time. I built this from a stripped lower and A3 20" flat top upper with a detachable carry handle. It functioned great and accuracy was spot on. One thing that we all agreed on was the sights could be better. I took a quick trip around the internet and there are thousands of options available. I was looking for some input from the esteemed members on this site. What say you?

    Iron or red dot?

I would prefer iron but not opposed to red dot if there are no good iron alternatives. I can also remove the fixed sight tower and put a rail there if that helps.

I have not a clue what you want. and there are thousands of options available.

that said, there was a pretty cool AK-47 where the front sight was a gold plated rooster.

might look a little tacky on an AR-15.

I bought some sights from Bushmaster IIRC. They fit on the standard carry handle. The rear has different size changeable apertures, and the front is a selection of smaller diameter posts that fit the standard sight. I believe you can buy the front posts individually, but I bought a set as I was unsure what size I would like.

I do agree that the stock sights could use some work. You can just about hide a dump truck behind that front post at 50 yards.

Maybe this one with the large aperture rear sight

Or these with low light situations

Just trying to see what others have done with theirs.

Maybe a Tritium rear sight to go along with the front.

Defense - red dot w/flip ups.

    Hunting - low power scope.
I can't believe they misspelled "Pork and Beans!"

I have 2 sets of irons on AR uppers. My 9mm carbine has a set of flip up magpuls that I got for under $30 shipped on a flash sale. Wouldn't pay the normal $90 for the set, but at $30 they are OK. Not a fan of the flip-up-ness of them, but they serve a purpose.

Also have a set of the UTG fixed sights on a 16" 5.56 upper. Very nice, like 'em a lot especially the price. Rear is very nice and easily adjusts, the "no glare" cuts on the front work as advertised.

With both, they are cowitnessed with an inexpensive red dot - a Bushnell TRS-25 on the 9mm, and a AT3-RD50 on the 5.56. Next dot I buy will be another of the AT3 units - lifetime warranty, nice 2moa dot, plenty of brightness even in full Florida summertime sun, price is right.
