Is California going to have another big one soon? It will make the last big one in 1900's look like a picnic compared to this one coming?

A major California fault capable of producing a magnitude 8 earthquake has begun moving for the first time on record, a result of this year?s Ridgecrest earthquake sequence destabilizing nearby faults, Caltech scientists say in a new study released in the journal Science on Thursday.
In the modern historical record, the 160-mile-long Garlock fault on the northern edge of the Mojave Desert has never been observed to produce either a strong earthquake or even to creep ? the slow movement between earthquakes that causes a visible scar on the ground surface. But new satellite radar images now show that the fault has started to move, causing a bulging of land that can be viewed from space.

To this date, the 'science community' has yet to be able to predict when "the big one" will actually take place.

I thought getting old would take longer.
I was there for the 1971 San Fernando earthquake it was a 6.6 and killed more people than most earthquakes. I remember it cracked our back porch and caused some landslides.
The "Big One" for CA is scheduled to occur 2 weeks after the world perishes from global warning.
Dang, we are going to miss it.

The 1st year I lived in LA they had Loma Prieta in San Francisco. Then my 1st year in San Francisco they had Northridge in LA. From south to north in CA, seems like they have a big shake wherever I ain't.
I move out of CA next year. Ya'll can thank me then ?.
LET US KNOW WHERE YOU MOVE TO ~ so we can move away before you get here!
