For the Cord Cutters

I cut the cord a couple of years ago and went to an OTA antenna, Netflix and Amazon Video. I have had issues getting a couple of channels out of Houston with the antenna. It probably needs to be higher to avoid obstructions.

I just found an app on the Roku stick called Locast which streams the local OTA channels over the internet. I really don't even need the antenna anymore. They stream channels from 15 major markets.

Just wanted to share for those that may have reception issues with some of the channels.

    We tried Dish and Direct.

Over-priced, mismanaged, crappy installations, lies rather than service, dishonest and scammers.

Then we lucked into a co-op cable company with Internet, TV and phone. 1/4th the price and 10 times the service and 0 scams.

Those little dishes make great target holders.

That is the only part of moving out to the boonies that I'm not looking forward to!
I've got 25 acres in an area that I've been told has no internet service other than satellite and that is expensive so I'm told. My have to learn to read books and rent movies LOL
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Cutting the cable is hard. Saving $200 a month is easy at comcast rates...

Thank you for this information. I have an OTA antenna at my vacation place.

Sinclair has a similar App called Stirr. It comes in handy when I want to see whats happening back home. https://stirr.com/

Advertisers should be squeezing the networks to send stronger signals, if you don't pay the new digital over the air BS signal sucks

I live in the boonies and have my internet through Hughes Net satellite with a dish. Also get 10 local TV Channels for free from a 79 dollar paid for indoor antenna. My land line phone is also powered by Hughes satellite for just 20 bucks a month added to the 70 dollar internet bill.

It really is not so bad and the exodus from the RAT RACE was certainly worth it!
