    nice car for sure

back story , back when I was a kid I had ( still have ) a 69 big block camaro but a friend ( his mom and dad owned a westerauto ) around 1973/ 74 time frame also liked cars , he showed one day with a 454 70 Monte Carlo same green as the one in you photo he did like to power brake it to show off  ( he passed on many years ago )
I would love to have that BB Monte of his now

knew these one dudes that had a monte back in the day (nothing special) it didn't have rear brakes, so they powerbraked the front til the rotors got red hot, whipped off a front wheel and poured beer on the rotor to see what would happen. (what they said anyways) I think they said it got warped.

ah, how we didn't appreciate what we had! [/shame/]

Cool looking old ride. Love the lines of that car.....
I wonder if it has the front swivel bucket seats.
Not sure if it was offered on the MC.

I knew a fella that had the next generation(1973), and it had the swivel seats.

Buddy of mine had a '71 SS 454. Red, with a black vinyl top. Air shocks in the back, Cragar S/S wheels, the works. For an absolute brick of a car, man, did that thing ever scoot.

    I don't doubt that!

when they scoot that much you don't want bench seats.

I was a Chevy man back in those days! I opted for the NOVA 2 door 1973 sky blue. It still had a nice body style with bigger bumpers than earlier models and me being a "family" guy, went with the straight 6 cylinder. Bought it slightly used in 74 for a whopping 1850 dollars. Sold it 10 years later for what I paid for it! :)

Carlo's are cool, but never the value of a Chevelle which uses the same frame. Here is a very good bargain that needs TLC. Looks like a headlight door, gas tank and some wheels.

I think the difference is, being a bigger and heavier car, it rides better. me and my friends noticed that with the Cutlass. other dude in the neighborhood with his own shop was always building Camaro and Chevelle hot rods but his daily driver was a '70 Monte.
