Trying to ID a TC Firearm for a friend PICS

A buddy of mine showed me this TC firearm. He was wondering if it was some type of youth gun or limited edition. I believe it is an older model due to the side logo which is different than the current ones in productions. Any light you can shine on this would be appreciated...an approx. value also if you have some knowledge in this area.

There are no other markings on the receiver. The Barrel is marked .22 L.R. Match. The trigger can be toggled between Rimfire and Centerfire...

Thanks for the assistance...

That's an older T/C Contender. Not the 1st model though, which was blued and showed a full catamount perched on a rock & looking over its shoulder. It will take current Contender barrels, centerfire or rimfire. As well as stocks and forends for the "original Contender". I'm recalling that T/C made a Contender version with a stainless type finish which had limited interchangeability - don't know if this is that version. If I heard the model name I'd recall it.

Not to get too far into what's legal and what's not, and some state laws may be stricter than federal, but the early Contenders were originally sold as handguns. Which means this can be assembled and reassembled as a legally configured handgun or rifle. The caveats I would add are that IF this was shown on 4473 as a rifle, that could be an issue. However if it's always been documented as a handgun or "other" on the 4473 I'd say it can go from handgun to rifle and back. ATF has done verbal gymnastics for the past +40 years to arrive at their current "it's OK" position. Having said that, if you have a Contender barrel fewer than 16" long you ought to have a handgun stock for it also. Constructive possession applies re SBR.

There's probably a trigger adjustment screw on the lower left inside of the frame. Produces an excellent pull.

If you send an e-mail to Mike Bellm of BellmTC he'll probably be able to give you tons of info.

I guess about $450.00 or so for the outfit. Frames are generally about $200.00, barrels $150.00 or so, maybe a touch more depending on caliber, finish, brake or sights.
