Another fire and power cut in California

Another fire burning in California and PG&E cutting power to tens of thousands of customers again.

Possible high winds due this weekend and PG&G may cut power again to other customers for the 4th time recently.

Isn't California one of those liberal 'green' states that wants everyone to drive an electric car .... and the electricity is turned off!

This is the way the power company is protecting itself from the nut jobs who sue everyone for anything.

I find it funny the people of CA get everything they deserve.

Sam, there's a lot more getting it, that don't deserve it.
Much more going on than meets the eye, and the liberal media isn't going to report it. Short and sweet of it is, the state is trying to destroy a company to eventually take it over. A political hostile take over if you will. PG&E is following the state mandated rules to a T, and that's backfiring on the Libs
The two major power utility companies here are PG&E from the Oregon border south to Bakersfield. Southern Cal Edison extends south from there to the Mexican border. One of those companies is forefront in the news taking blame for everything out of Sacramento, and one isn't. Want to guess which one supports the democraps?
PG&E is in the bankruptcy process that will be finished up in July 2020. It will be interesting to see who is going to win this battle between now and then.

I recall that PG&E went bankrupt during the 2001 electricity crisis. Although market manipulation was the driving force behind the electricity shortage, a drought in the northwest states and in California reduced the amount of hydroelectric power available and the resulting high prices and shortages of power lead to the eventual recall of Governor Gray Davis. SoCal Edison, which was my power supplier, managed to avoid bankruptcy, although just.

Mark, that was back when they were going full bore trying to break PG&E up into little private companies, and the PUC forced them to sell power at half of what it cost to produce and deliver it.

Soon, all them greeny calisocialists will each have their very own honda portable generator.....and then they won't need PG&E at all. They can just make electricity at point of use and exclaim to everyone how this will eliminate the need for dangerous and ugly power lines.

Man was it warm today Marina, CA (Thursday) it must've been 80?/90?? And it was breezy with that winds from the East and that too was warm before 09:00. It's just odd for October. I wonder what today will be like?

I wonder where the fires are?

Its a shame CA is such a mess. I have very fond memories of when I lived there in the late 60's early 70's.

Thanks for the info Trap that makes sense to me. With a state owned power company CA could really effect how people live and what they pay.

Its funny when I lived there everyone was chanting "Power to the People" "Now its Power to the state"

Well there's the obvious flaw in that statement, we didn't vote for it. Doesn't really matter how you vote here anymore, "it's not who votes, it's who counts the votes".

Sam, you remember "down with the establishment"? Now "they" are the establishment.

Fire Update: They're already trying to blame PG&E for the fire after finding a broken jumper wire on the transmission line. That's the wire that goes over the insulator connecting the two ends of the transmission wire. The problem with that theory is, they don't just break, neither do the insulators. 99.9% of the time, it's some numbnuts shooting insulators with his deer rifle.
Back in the '70's this was real common on the lines that run from Lake Shasta power plant, to the Humboldt Bay power plant, across northern Calif. At least it was until two of these morons were found BBQ'ed too close to the insulators they shot, in the same year, during deer season, and 100 miles apart.

Difference between California and the Titanic?

Winds predicted to be 70 MPH tonight and PG&E considering cutting power to thousands of customers.

Wonder how those GREENIES with electric cars feel about that! :D

As a side note, the news reports one of the fires has burned around 640 acres ... whoopie ding, that is just over one square mile. Big deal, many farm fields are far larger than that. ;)

For every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction.

Mean while as the lefties are blaming the power company, Jose and Juan continue their trip across the back country with their BIC lighters, that they stole at the Walmart, setting the world on fire.
