Taped the flashlight to the barrel of the 870. Just scanned the yard and Mr. Coyote is history. 3" no 2 lead with an ounce and seven eights

    Excellent.

Every time I hear something weird animal wise outside at night, coyotes or * in yard. Go back and grab scatter gun, gone when I get back. You?d think I?d learn.

#2 lead is good medicine for a lot of things. I used it a lot, I've killed several coyotes with it while fox calling . I did go to #4 buck when I was calling a lot for fox. I primarily used a Ranger single shot with 30" full choke barrel. I had a 5 cell light with a 6 volt halogen bulb mounted under the forearm drawn down to a fine spot and it was bright with 7.5 volts running trough it. Had it adjusted so if the critter was in the center of the light it was dead. If one came in real close I had to put the bead on his head.

You know Select, that they sell flashlight mounts for these applications?

You could probably afford one. :o  ;)

I am not scratching up my barrel. Tape residue will come off .

When a man needs to shoot a coyote today he does what he needs to, fancy gadgets be damned.

Why wait until the last second of "need?"

I have multiple firearms mounted with lights, ready to go. (They all have the fabric covered neoprene patch protecting the metal.)

I do not need to duct tape, anything to anything.
Could be why you?re single. If they can?t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy!

You mean you buy up all those fancy gadgets ahead of time in case you need them? Why in the heck would you do that when a roll of duct tape and a spool of bailing wire can take care of most of what a man needs? You ain't really from the Tennessee Mountains are you. You must be a transplant.

    Single by choice Brother.

I was not trying to denigrate anyone. Simply pointing out the need/advantages for prior planning.

I was quoting Red Green. I?m a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.

Wasn?t ripping on you, just going off of your words of never using duct tape. :o

That is not to say that I am not a proponent of Duct tape in general. I am a regular user. (Just not on firearms.) If it comes down to that, I have multiple sizes and weights of Zip ties. Much Mo Betta. :D

YES, us country boys celebrate the invention of zip ties. They won't replace bailing wire but they'll do in a pinch, and they're quick.

I use a couple small pieces of fabric covered neoprene about 2/16" or so thick. I believe they were small samples attatched to product back in my outdoor retailer days. I have a few.
REALLY? did you use 2/16ths??? was 1/8 unavailable?
