What's on your "have to have" list for your next gun purchase? October got 4 new ones for me, but I just gotta get me a Remington 541T. Had one years ago, and foolishly I sold it. Gotta, gotta, gotta get me one...... :D

What's on your list???

An AR-10. I can't see prices getting lower than they are right now, so I pulled the trigger on a PSA AR-10. It should be here by the middle of the week

More Glocks, AR parts and mags.

A no holds barred USPSA Open gun- but that is $6-8K which is big change to spend on a pistol- when really you should have two identical guns as one would be for backup.

I have a fair amount of guns go through my hands and sometimes I get a "crush" on one. The 3 1/2" Nickle S&W 27 I had a few weeks ago was an example but me strong like bull and I tell myself, Self, NO!! NO!! NO!!

I have been through a lot of very nice firearms in my life but just having a lot of stuff has lost its meaning to me. I am liking things simple these days and I probably don't own more than twenty five or thirty guns now. I do have maybe one hundred or more knives all over the place. I am starting on a estate now and in addition to a lot of very nice guns the guy left his wife the "burden" of disposing of a couple of hundred watches and 28 guitars. I can't speak on the watches or guitars but I plan to get her every penny I can for her guns.

I think something's wrong with me. Sure, there are guns that I don't have and would like to have, but no real desire to buy them. Prices on the guns that I would like to have are much higher than the level of enjoyment I would get from owning and shooting them, so no desire to buy anything right now. :?

I would like a 36 or 40 cal flintlock rifle in the Southern Poorboy style with iron furniture and about a 30-32" swamped barrel rifled for round ball.

Got it last weekend at the gun show.

Had the .22 short and .22 long rifle, but "needed" the .22 magnum. Now I have the full set and just need to get to work building a display case for the set.

    ;)

Trust me on this, the 541S will outshoot it. Don't know how or why but have had several of both and EVERY S was just plain nuts for a production firearm. imo, strong.

The T I had would put just about anything in a dime at 75 yards... They were all the same except the scrolling on the S... Interesting tid bit of info. They are awesome rifles though. Prices are definitely on the rise though..

You will be very happy with one of Jim's kits! Best and easiest to assemble along with being historically as close as you can get!

Sam, I have a nice 40 that fits except it has a 48" swamped Getz barrel! Built by the late great Cotton Volrath from Michigan's upper peninsula! A Looooooong southern style rifle!

    That is nice!

I want a little shorter barrel to maneuver in the thick woods I think a 36 would as long as I would like to go.

Which configuration did you go with, Mr. C? I'd like one of the 20" stainless uppers but am still undecided on which lower.

Anything nice and cheap. Winchester M1-A or loaded Springfield maybe.
Went to an auction couple weeks ago looking at buying H&K 300. Too many marks here and there for me, brought 1700.00, way too much.
Did catch bidders asleep on a mint 1968 nickel 36 S&W, 325.00 and a Uberti 1866 44/40 for 675.00 Looks unfired and real nice. Blind hog finds an acorn once and a while.
A pre ban Colt sporter brought 2,700.00 and a Polytec AK 47 NIB brought 2700.00 to. Wow.

You'll like it. My Grandson and I both have one. After he shot mine last Christmas, he saved enough to buy his own. We have Nikon P-308's on them in cantilever mounts. Fun to shoot, and I'm taking mine hog hunting next week.

    Shhhhhhhh . . . .

Can you guys keep a secret?

How about a couple of hints?

    5-shot
    Stainless steel
    Single-action only
    Rosewood grips

I am very busy in my woodworking shop right now - Christmas, but hope to start on the case sometime after the first of the year. I have a few options for the design and species of wood, but nothing solid yet.

I am working on a collection of the military hand guns of WWII. There are some I will likely never see offered at any price, such as those used by South American Countries and Mexico, but I am only a very few shy of the European hand guns used. Need a 400 Astra, a Webley Mark VI and a few of the odd US guns, like the .38 issued to the CIA (OSS), and similar guns used by pilot, some training pistols etc. It is a work in progress.

Since this is a wish thread and wishes are just dreams unless you hit the lotto, I know a guy who is a master gun builder. He also engraves with more skill than most members of the guilds. One of the rifles he built a few years ago, was a beautiful fullstock PA\Kentucky fullstock 54 caliber swamped barrel 44" long, engraved flintlock he reworked from a Chambers kit, super curly maple stock carved in all the right places in gorgeous rococo style. All brass furniture finely fitted, polished, and engraved exquisitely.

And to top everything off his handmade iron sights were made from a meteor! :o 8-) YUP! I would like to buy that someday! :D

Picked up a few guns since I've been home:

Assembled a 20 inch barrel PSA A2/A4 rifle.
    Ruger Redhawk 45 Colt/ACP
    Ruger LCP
    Sig P365
    Winchester 97
    Stoeger Coach Gun

With Deer Season coming up I'm jonesin for a left hand Ruger Scout Rifle with 18" barrel. Have some ballistic tip 308 coming from Midway for my M1A that I plan to use. However, thinking a lighter weight bolt might be more fun to drag around.

I don't know why, but the Mossberg MC1sc intrigues me. The Henry single shot shotguns are pretty cool too.
Enemies of armed self-defense focus on the gun. They ignore the person protected with that gun.

I've been wanting one also. Every time I found a good price on one, they were sold out. :/

I didn't notice that it was an old thread, and I had already posted on it. At least I'm consistent with my want list. :D:blush:

Looking for a belt fed .45 ACP.

    Have a belt fed .50 BMG, 30-06, and 5.56.

A .45 ACP would complete the set.

I did get my AR-10, and I was right, the prices never got lower...but they've sure gotten higher!

PSA with heavy SS barrel and the expected MAGPUL furniture, magazines and bipod. It came with what PSA called their "target trigger", which wasn't bad, but I eventually replaced it with a Bushmaster target trigger, which is better. Detachable iron sights, Kahles 10X scope on a Warne mount (Warne has been around forever and I like their products), A Strike Industries hand stop and a Yankee Hill Machine Resonator suppressor using YHM's QD mount.

It is a nice rifle and capable of shooting very tight groups. I'm pleased with it.
