Got a whole pile of vegetables that I'm going to smoke for a while then make some killer salsa...then wash it down with a few beers. How are you going to pass the day?

Forgot that I need to take my 28 gauge Citori apart. Shot some skeet yesterday and I must have got a piece of #9 shot in the receiver, top lever sticks open....

I just finished photographing a .458 Winchester Magnum rifle and now I need to go to the hardware store and then pick up lunch and then it's back to work.

Eat some pork ribs cooked in Sunday Gravy using what I had instead of following the recipe I made on Friday. I used a whole rack of pork spare ribs, two pounds of pork sausage regular and what they call "hot". Threw the sausages and the ribs in the oven to brown (more color instead of cooking them through) then cook them in the sauce for a while. I used two 24 ounce jars of Classico and a can of Hunt's diced tomatoes with a good squeeze of tomato paste. I even bought a bottle of Cab (not to drink but to cook with) I think it's Cab I know it was red when I poured about half a bottle in the pot. I'll need to freeze half of just sauce since I don't wanna eat that for a week. I'll boil some Angel Hair and use some of the sauce later for the evening meal.

I'm thinking of going to KFC/Long John Silver to see if they still have onion rings on their menu. Got a taste for some and I can dunk it in some of that gravy. Also warm up some of the ribs to go with the onion rings. It's almost 11:00 so I think they'll be open soon. Gives me time to warm up the pork ribs in sauce so when I get the onion rings it'll be feeding time.

Today, finishing up some outdoor chores getting ready for winter which is already here! Putting away all the long handled yard tools that lean on the fence corner during warm months. Getting out the protective covers that I put over my two north side basement window casements. Monday is trash pickup day so I dumped all the bags of garbage into my wheeled dumpster and hooked it to the tractor, riding it down my long steep driveway to the dirt road.

Had a fellow from another forum interested in a rifle I am selling so I took and sent some pictures his way. Took my two K-9 friends out for their morning walk which was a few hours later than usual. The only way to get them adjusted to this friggin time change!

Plan on having a few cold beers this afternoon before dinner. Probably fall asleep in front of the tube this evening. Just another day in paradise! :)

The Long John Silvers close to me, 40 miles away, closed a few years ago. A Taco Bell is at their old location today. :)

I REALLY miss Burger Chef and also Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips but alas, been gone some 40 years now!

Spent a glorious morning hanging out in a flooded cornfield, NW of Missouri Valley, Iowa, along the Missouri River. We got gadwalls, widgeon, mallards, a couple pintail, and 1 buddy accidentally shot a spoonbill, Vile tasting ducks.

Didn't get our limit, but I had a blast.

Seems they disco-ed the onion rings or the Mexican girl didn't understand what I was asking. So another reason for why bother going back :(.

Grunt2 - "Sunday Gravy" is basically pasta sauce (I used the Soprano's Cookbook as the base) they use veal chops, pork sausages, pork ribs cooked in crushed tomatoes. You can google for actual recipe. Basically they use the meats to flavor the sauce and the meats gets to be the second course.

well, the other week when I had clogged up sinuses and waterboarded myself in the bathtub, a day or two after that a tooth that had fallen out got an abscess under it and flared up. it swelled and started hurting. next day at work (Thursday) it hurt bad enough that I took Friday off to go to the dentist. but, calling him on a Thursday, he told me they are closed Friday Saturday and Sunday. so I'm SOL until next Monday (today) and I set an appointment for 9:30

in the meantime he prescribed antibiotics for me over the phone. said that will do the most for reducing the swelling, by killing the germs--- after it kicks in in 48 hours.

so I got the antibiotics, and took off Friday because a) it hurt and b) I want it to heal with rest and a hot pad. if that stuff gets in the bloodstream you can die from blood poisoning.

so I'm laying in bed all day Friday with nothing to do but feel a grape-sized lump on the side of my face. the gums were blown out sideways like they could pop. after laying there all day, I'm thinking I'm not going to wait, I'm going to pop this thing. so I got a sewing needle and poked it into the gum. but it wasn't working and I thought, if I poke a hole there it might get infected from all the germs in my mouth. poking it into my cheek from the outside would be better! I could put alcohol on it to sterilize the outside, which I can't do inside my mouth. so I took the sewing needle and stuck it into my cheek so it would go all the way through and into the swollen gums inside my mouth. went slowly and twisted as I went so it wouldn't hurt so much. but, it wasn't working, and then I realized I stuck it in 1/2" or whatever and if I have to pull it out and try again, how many holes am I going to make??? I can only do this once. and it wasn't working. so I had to give up and pull it out.

on Saturday I was laying there, and all of a sudden it went *pop* by itself and drained blood and pus through the hole that used to be a tooth and right into my mouth. had to suck on what used to be a tooth, to suck the rest out of a lump on the side of my face. that was a weird feeling but it felt better immediately.

so I could work that week (last week) but, during that week, a filling fell out of a different tooth. then a day or two after that it further disintegrated and a large 2mm chunk fell out, leaving a very large hole. called the dentist and kept the appointment but changed plans to fix the filling.

so I was taking today off of work, and got up in the morning to go to the dentist's. wouldn't you know it, but I was eating a Hot Pocket 15 minutes before I left, and another tooth broke off. so now after the dentist fixes the filling there are two root canals for him to do I think.

    never a dull moment

Well, Bush that's horrible. And the dentist can't really do anything until that goes down anyway. Having spent more than my fair share of time in the chair, I now, last 15 years, take much better care of my teeth and it's the way to go.

If I had a Long John Silvers, any where around me, I would hit them more often thanTaco Bell. (About once a week, every other week.)

There was one in Boone. It closed about two years ago. How do you fail to make a go of it, of a Long John Silvers, in a College town? (Appalachian State.)

    (Love that Sheeit.)

Killed a twelve pack of Supremes, (picked up on Fri. evening on the way home.) 4 that evening. 8 the next evening.

A 10-12 pack of Long John Silvers, with malted vinegar?

    Nirvana.
oh yeah. LJS. best winter food ever. we also have Capt. D's, which is the same thing but better and they have malted vinegar too.

Very shortly, will service my whole house humidifier as I do every fall before it gets below 0 degrees. It was close last night at only 10 above 0.

Have to install a new water filter, going to replace the clear plastic drain line since it's filled with gunk from the crappy city water, replace the cracked drain line spud, and test the operation of the humidity control.

Not a tough project and shouldn't take long.

    8-)

You should cook some ribs in pasta sauce while making sausage.
