I got up and got moving early...Headed to an outdoor range and shot three different rifles...two for hunting seasons and a safe queen that had not seen the outside for a few years.....Next I rolled over to a lake near the range and fished....caught a few small bass and was off again. Hit a DQ on the way home for some ice cream., just because !!! I got home just before two in the afternoon....I got cleaned up, changed into my hunting clothes and was on stand with my bow before 245....I did not see any deer I wanted to shoot but it sure was a lovely afternoon and a beautiful sunset...?.

I should sleep like a baby tonight.......Hope you all had a good day too.....

Retirement sure has its perks. The weather around here hasn't been cooperating for getting any outside work done. Just to wet and windy to get the yard cleaned up. Had a brief window today of no rain and the weather people are calling for a rain snow mix the next couple of days. I took advantage of todays weather and spent 6+ hours getting the leaves picked up. Wet leave are heavier than all get out! Gonna be sore tomorrow but I got most of it done and won't have to worry about it for this fall. If I wasn't retired they would have probably stayed on the yard until spring. Bob

I add, "I don't have to get up at 3:30AM and be on an airplane before daylight!"
I can't believe they misspelled "Pork and Beans!"

Yesterday, I played a great round of golf (possibly the last one for this year), had a lovely mid-week martini, and enjoyed some nice sushi with my wife for dinner. Trifecta enough for me.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

    Best parts of being retired:

    1. Every day is Saturday
    2. I put on long pants this week. First time since May.
    3. I no longer have to explain to countless TSA staff what a blaster's license is, and why my computer bag tests positive for every explosive they test for.
    4. There is dust on my alarm clock.
    5. When I was 5 years old, what I really wanted in life was a nap, a cookie, and to hold hands with the little red headed girl. When you retire, you find out the 5 year old you was pretty smart.

Had you come to Tulsa, I would have bought you REAL ice cream. Baum's has it in multiple flavors. Coulda been dinner.

William, you must be a new retiree. Those of us who have been at it a decade or more have learned to pace ourselves. You have to leave some stuff for tomorrow or you run out. Aside from meals and my evening cocktail, for example, my to-do list for today includes refilling the coffee canister with fresh grounds (done), digging out my slipper socks for winter mornings, and watching some college football.

Never do two fun things or two larger chores in the same day. Always save one for tomorrow or you'll have nothing to do then. Think tortoise rather than grasshopper, my boy!
