One will definitely lose but, they both will remain on top in the rankings..........LSU, is my guess to win ;)

Whomever plays Alabama, I root for the other team. I tire of hearing about them all the time on sports news. Actually, that largely goes for the media darling - the SEC. But, this one is in-conference so that part doesn't come into play.

Actually, that largely goes for the media darling - the SEC.

When there's a conference that wins the national championship 9 out of the last 12 years they're going to get talked about a lot. All the other conferences have to do is try winning some and maybe they'll get talked about a lot.

Smitty, there's certainly some truth to that. However, when media constantly praise the SEC, it influences which teams even get into the playoffs. With more SEC teams in the playoffs their odds are higher for one to win. Simple math.

Do I think there is a better conference this year? No, not really. But, to listen to some sources it sounds like they think they are the NFL and the rest of the country is 2nd string junior varsity.

SEC teams beat their brains out every year playing other very good SEC teams, that's hard to do and survive a whole season on top. That's the reason SEC teams dominate in the top 10 rankings.....even the top 20, also I don't know the count but I'd wager there's more SEC players in the NFL than any other conference, the physical conditioning and training in the HOT humid South will make the already tough....tougher :D

I like both these teams. Lean towards Bama a little more though. So many good teams in the SEC and they beat each other up so much that some excellent teams don't make the playoffs because of it. LSU, Bama and Georgia are all great teams that would dominate in most other conferences. South Carolina beat Georgia and that shows you can't take no one for granted in the SEC. Put Ohio State or Clemson in the SEC and they would have a few losses.

Have to pull for Bama but either way the SEC team thqat wins this game should get the National Champ tag. Clemson is playing high school teams and getting recognition as a contender.

As another poster noted the SEC teams are mostly high caliber teams surviving a conference season with zero losses in the SEC should get extra points.
Versus Clemson who have played picadilly tech and such.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Bama is a one TD favorite, but this is going to be a bang-up game! It will be difficult for LSU to beat the Tide on any field as Bama is most definitely the SEC darling. That says a lot more than what meets the eye aside from the home field advantage of about three points - meaning that the refs and controversial calls, especially any late in the game that often decide who wins or loses.

LSU revamped their offense to one similar to what you see in the Big-12 in terms of formations and number of plays during a game, and they have a QB to go with it. Getting off to a slow start in this game is something that neither team wants to do, especially, if they want to have a chance to become conference champion and secure a playoff berth. The chance of two teams from the same conference in the final four is very slim as long as there is a one loss power 5 conference champion in the arena.

I would like to see LSU upset Bama, but I don't have a dawg in this fight...so a really good game without any controversial calls winning the game for one team or the other suits me just fine. I will be watching it, and since it's late in the year and not hot, the third and fourth quarters should not be akin to being in a traffic jam in Atlanta due to one stoppage of play after another, due to cramps or bogus injuries so the D can rest up and catch their breath, with the intentional benefit of breaking the momentum of an offense.

The ACC for the past several years has been better than they ever have before and Clemson is still for real - check Jeff Sagarin's power ratings...they are number three right now. While the SEC usually has more teams in the top 10 during the regular season, they have not been dominant once their best teams are matched against the best ones from other conferences during bowl games. For example, they have only won about one half of their bowl games during this period. Where the best one team in America is concerned...their record remains unmatched.

Looks like I'm the only one so far that believes LSU will pull it off against Bama, I just put a few dollars on LSU to win only because they have a much better offense vs. Bama the much better defense (no point spread on this one for me :D ) ........from a historical point I'll take a little "shock and awe" everytime over defense but I'm old enough to know there's periods history sucked too

I have to tell you...I would not take Bama by 6 in this game :) Shock and awe is where we are at since the widespread lack of defense certainly looks to be the norm for the foreseeable future.

It really won?t matter who wins. Sportball history shows Alabama can lose and still make the NCAA playoff over the team that beat them.

Add Terry Bradshaw to the list, this a.m on Fox & Friends he also predicted LSU.......he didn't play college ball for them so to me that speaks volumes ;) .....plus it makes me feel better about my pick

Well, if LSU is going to beat Bama, now is the time to do it, since they have been flying high ever since A and M stung them 74-72, was it ? in seven overtimes last November in Texas. That and their new offense and hotshot QB Burrows, plus Bama's QB Tagavailoa is out with an injury. What The LSU defense has to do is rattle their new QB. That and keep the score close in the first half...and hope the calls go their way.

Word is Tua is expected to start. Both Tua and Burrows are tops in the country in passing completions and efficiency, right behind the Oklahoma QB.

The Sooners will be pulling for the Tigers.

The only certain prediction is that whoever wins, there will be hordes of posters braying "WE won!" -- as if they were on the team. Proxy pride, and pitiful.

I haven't watched any college games this year.
LSU and Burrows looks pretty impressive. Bama looks lost, like we automatically win! What's going on!
Burrows is having some kind of game!
It would be interesting to see what Ohio State can do against Bama, Clemson, or LSU.
The Big 10 just isn't too good.

There's lots of college football left this year...no teams need to go to sleep yet, ask my Georgia Bulldogs what a small school can do when you doze off :o , a little 3 point field goal will kick your * in the win/loss column . We're still in the running this year for SEC play-offs but a loss definitely changes rankings nationally.......fast

    Hi Ed!

Burrow transfered in from Ohio State, but you probably knew that. My son really likes the day he's having too!

I like the Buckeyes best this year, although LSU is truly impressive today. The BIG-10 looks really good this year in my opinion, and they went 7 and 1 in last years bowl games!

Bang up! Who plays defense anymore? It's just not the norm nowadays. Wisconsin still ahead?

Getting ready for Oklahoma and Iowa State, which might be a nail biter as well!

Joe Burrow is the best qb in NCAA football, but let's hear it for Clydro! That kid is highly underrated!

As for alabama, they don't have a single win over a currently ranked top 25 team. Not one. I also don't think they're the best team we've played this season. They'll need all they luck in the world to beat Auburn.
