got the grandkids tonight and ask them what they wanted for dinner, that was their answer, I go for breakfast every so often but not much for dinner. they had a special on menu fried turkey filet , with country gravy. I am not a big turkey fan but have never had fried turkey, breaded like fried chicken. honestly it was quite good, if I could only have turkey one way, this would be it, they had it done up like country fried steak. may have to go back and try it again next week. granddaughter also beat grandson at checkers with a little help from grampa..........

I also like their breakfasts, but the CB closest to me is right off the interstate and on the way to Disneyworld (which is the curse of Central Florida) and is crowded around the clock. I'd eat there often... if I could at least find a place to park.

I used to eat breakfast there just because I liked the coffee.. they have changed it now to the Starbucks type bitter strong coffee because they are doing iced coffee drinks

We eat at Cracker Barrel a good bit and enjoy their foods but I hate their noisy acoustics in those places when they're busy, it seems the noise is magnified 10X........ can't even have a decent conversation with my family or the understand the waitress.

When we have "regional meetings" the CB is just a short walk from the hotel so it's the eatery of choice for many of those who don't like to drive in the city. Decent food in adequate portions at an economical price doesn't hurt either. I get paid $65 per day "M&IE" and it costs $20-25 to eat two meals at CB that I can walk to, what's the downside of that?

I eat there a good bit when on the road to different gun shows. Like there meat loaf. they do give you enough to fill up on with out breaking the wallet. But will take a good dinner if one is available first. I due love my good food.

My daughter managed one for a time and they sent her to Tennessee for a couple months of training. The company works real hard on service and quality. And if you haven't noticed, about all are located to major thorough fares simply because of business. I still stop in to ours about 4 miles from me. SURE they are crowded, but I think that's why they stay in business. It takes a city you know. ;)

Breakfast is good and the Chicken Fried steak is Ok other than that I pass them up. There are none near me and when I am on the road I don't like stopping except for gas. If I am hungry I got to the drive through and eat on the road.

Driving I asked her where she wanted to eat................answer, Cracker Barrel

I said you can eat at a CB anytime lets try one of these Ma and Pa dinners or BBQ joints...........Her answer how do we know it will be good.

    I gave up

The correct phrasing is "Older than I' I can be a pedantic grammar cop because I'm 72, you toddler, you!

I like Cracker Barrel so much, I bought two of their rockers. (Really good chairs, btw) CB and Black Bear Diners are among my top favorite places to eat. CB has that great country store - and they serve the nearest thing to Southern grits that can be found out West.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

AND....you can still find a lot of things at Cracker Barrel that once were and are no longer anywhere else! Those multi colored Neapolitan coconut candy bars for one! :P

And most of the CB's I have eaten in have an old shotgun hanging over the fireplace! My kind of homespun comfort!

Sounds pretty bad but a bit kryptic Ken? Would love to hear your story but understand why you'd be hesitant to share.

They say going through a divorce is similar to a close death in many ways and includes mourning for many.

Had the absolute worst public break up EVER, in the Cracker Barrel in Gatlinburg, TN. While with my extended family. I kept looking around, thinking "where are the cameras?" This has got to be an episode of Candid Camera, or the like.

It was not my intention, nor my choice of place/time. She forced it.

A few years after my divorce, while with the Former Israeli Army Soldier. Relax Guy's (female) Hot, hot, nymphomaniac/Bipolar disorder, it turned out.

I will NEVER forget that, my entire life.

Whenever I see a Cracker Barrel sign, I have flashbacks and PTSD moments.

I thought about sharing on the "Stories," thread, but thought better of it.

    What a freakin' nightmare.

She must have reached for one of your biscuits. Thank God she didn't go for one of your tacos. :D:D

There is none convenvenient for us to go to but I love their food. I have gotten the same thing for probably better than 15 years.

Spicy Grilled Catfish dinner (2 fillets), double hashbrown casserole, and fried apples. You can actually get all of that for breakfast too. However, I normally get cornbread and apple butter but it is only available after breakfast.
