if the Terminator landed in 2020 instead...

in the year 1984, somewhere in Los Angeles, a Cyberdyne Systems T-800 popped out of a ball of plasma and landed on the ground.

its mission was to kill Sarah Connor.

it didn't have any weapons.

what if the Terminator had landed in the year 2020?

what guns would it pick up from a pawn shop (cough) instead of the ones it chose in 1984?

let's start with the pistol.

it chose an AMT Harballer Longslide in .45ACP with a laser.

a 1984 laser.

T2020-02.jpg

I think the obvious choice would have been a Glock 40 in Ten Millimeter, with a holographic red dot.

T2020-03.png

(10mm was brand new in 1984, holographic red dots were unheard of, and the depiction of such a futuristic progression of the plastic Glock pistols from Austria would have fit the sci-fi plot perfectly, totally wow'ed the movie crowd, and it's a ho-hum reality for us today)

looks sufficiently terminator-like.

T2020-04.jpg

but that laser!

T2020-05.jpg

we have better options in the year 2020. we can do that. light, laser, whatever.

T2020-05b.jpg

next, what about the Uzi. great choice in 1984 but woefully obsolete in 2020.

T2020-07.jpg

it would choose a CZ Scorpion.

T2020-08.jpg

portability could have added a twist to the plot.

T2020-09.jpg

next up is the AR18 and the SPAS-12

T2020-10.jpg

obviously a SCAR-17 in .308 but...

T2020-11.jpg

naah, it sees a CZ-805 on the rack with all the goodies.

T2020-12.jpg

so what about the shotgun

T2020-13.jpg

what would it choose? a Pancor Jackhammer?

T2020-14.png

Armscor VR60?

T2020-15.jpg

Fostech Origin 12?

T2020-16.jpg

naah! it wants a UTAS UTS-15

jam-o-matic but one helluva movie prop, seemingly designed for the Terminator itself

T2020-17.jpg

what else is there

Wouldn't matter to the libs. Just paint the guns black and the libs will be fainting in the theaters.

Or the Terminator could rip off a 3 gun competitor. Glock - check, Evil black rifle - check, Extended mag 12 gauge - check. Then get him a Barrett 50 to take care of the big stuff and he is all set. Bob

why did he need a gun any way it was immune to any harm ( for the most part ) could kill easily had all the time it needed even wait out and kill
her kid at some point in time . but that would have been a dull action no blood and bullets + no box office sales that commands all the money in theaters .
5 gallons of gas and a match would have taken her out :o

its all about wowing the masses with firepower blood and guts , killing all you can mostly with a gun .. really not much different than today's top movies .... then get of screen and protest any one owning a firearm

It's CALIFORNIA!!! None of those are on the "approved" list! Even if he stole one. he could not buy ammo for it. He would end up getting caught in a brushfire. Having been swatted for having a pocket full of plastic straws.

He would probably get elected governor an just screw the entire state.

    I know . . . . sounds pretty far fetched - doesn't it?

bushmaster ... I like your thinking, except Sarah would have to now live in a red state, like Texas ... maybe Dallas? Otherwise all he would have gotten would would be air-soft guns!

Well, it was a lucky night at the disco, twice that early morning and once more before going home to get ready for work ... 1984 I was 27 ;)
If you really desire something, you'll find a way ?
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.

He would have to make a stop in Nevada

With ARs with Juggernaut mag lock or other means would slow down the Terminator. If he wanted to convert them to "standard" AR dude would have to find a lower build kit for the bolt catch or Dremel the Juggernaut so the mag button is freed. I suppose he could go for the "featureless" ARs but dude will have to search high and low to find the standard AR magazine spring to convert the 10/30 magazines. Unless he can get Skynet "Prime" :D:D:D. Dude would have to land in Arizona and then drive to L.A. to look for Sarah. California is not Terminator friendly tiday.

I think the only thing the Terminator would be packing would be Benelli M4 with magazine extension with selections of "OO" and slug/sabot. Everything else on the California shelves are meant to slow him down. Maybe that's why California did this. To keep us safe from the Terminator :lol::lol:.

Now being from the future. Dude should be able to cobble together something like "Cable" did in "Deadpool 2". Come to think of it the Terminator should be able to hit up the universities to build some laser guns. Find Leonard ("Big Bang Theory") in Pasadena and go to his lab then go find Sarah.
