Getting Ticks Off Easy

Where i live there are 2 things abundant around my house. Ticks and snakes.

I have yet figured out snakes but i have found out if ticks get on you put squirt soap on the tick and rub it in. My wife buys bath and body works soap but i think any spray soap works. Do this about every 5 minuets give or take and keep applying new soap and it will come off all in 1 piece. Easy peasy.

Now the snakes lol.

you could try putting a big squirt of perfume on the snakes nose, if it doesn't run off at least you will smell him coming.......

Be very careful about putting anything on a tick still attached to you. If they puke, their stomach contents go in you- increasing chances of disease transmission.

neighbor at the lake place was dressing with it looked like panty hose or long underwear so i went over to see...it was a real fine weave two piece like long johns and called Gorilla Gear.. little noseeum ticks over their made turkey hunting a tough go but they could not get thru this..when he came back he would air blow off then hose down and then shower after dumpin these in the hot water wash...had a hat with fine mesh that draped down and kept them out....here at home we have big ticks that you can feel them hit when they drop out of trees......

The problem with ticks...when they bite they squirt a "glue" in the bite hole to attach themselves. That glue may be diseased and the tick just injected it in you.

Then you discover the tick and want him off so you do what your granny used to do, touch a hot match head to his body (hold a gas rag on it, etc) so he will let go. However, to let go he must squirt some of his glue release agent into your skin. Again, he may inject you with disease. So the safest procedure is to, as soon as possible, remove the tick as outlined below.
Make sure you didn't pull his head off and leave it in your skin.


I had a terrible time with ticks for several years. I think my record was 13 in one day.
I began bathing in lye soap and the last 2 years and my annual yield can be counted on one hand.
(Lather with Lye soap, rinse, lather with body soap, rinse)

How to remove a tick
Use fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the skin's surface as possible.
Pull upward with steady, even pressure. ...
After removing the tick, thoroughly clean the bite area and your hands with rubbing alcohol or soap and water.
Never crush a tick with your fingers.

f you develop a rash or fever within several weeks of removing a tick, see your doctor. Be sure to tell the doctor about your recent tick bite, when the bite occurred, and where you most likely acquired the tick.

Get some guinea hens they will eat every tick in your yard and chase the snakes away too
