Not for me, but a friend of mine asked me, on behalf of a friend of his.

The gun owner lived for a time in Canada, and he has several firearms left stored there. He has moved to Texas, and would like to have his guns. How does he go about it?

If the person in question is a US citizen who resided temporarily in Canada and brought his guns with him (to Canada) he would have filled out Form 4457- Certificate of Registration for Personal Effects Taken Abroad, for the temporary export of firearms. All that he needs to do is to present the approved form, and the same guns that he temporarily exported can be returned to the US. If he acquired the guns while living in Canada then he needs to import them using the same rules as anyone else: ATF Form 6...I wish him luck.
