They've been sold on GunBroker, and other places. They are completely rubberized coated and have the rubberized end caps.

why would I? my gun is either in a holster I'm carrying, or on a table a few feet away. always.

if I wanted one of those I could make it out of a coat hanger and duct tape.

good idea though. I''m sure someone could use it.

I have some heavy wire (requires a hammer to bend it) and some tubing.

I can see using one on a closet shelf or table.

Those things are way stronger than coat hangers. I don't use the pistol mounts, mostly because most of mine have their factory boxes and get stored in them. But, I will say that I love their Rifle Rods system. It allows a lot more long guns to be stored in the same amount of space. I have them in my safe and before I lost all my guns in that fateful boating accident ;) , they really gave me a lot more space. The company is great to work with too. I sent them a couple of minor suggestions and they owner of the company actually called me and sent me out a few samples of their various products. I wouldn't have ever tried it, but he sent me one of the magnetic gun holder that I like.

This is the site: https://www.storemoreguns.com/ I keep all my collectible and less used guns in gun socks which aren't set up to use these. So, my wife cuts the end off the sock, sews a button hole into it, then sews them back up. Then, I put a car keytag over the rod, slide it through the hole on the gun sock, and into the gun bore. That way I can tell exactly which gun is inside.

As a matter of fact, I do use those handgun hangers in my gun safe.

Maybe 8 or 9 years ago, postman delivered a package with them inside.

I NEVER ordered them and had never seen them .. had to read the paperwork in the package with them to learn what they were.

They were sent directly for a supplier ...... no idea how come they were shipped to me.

    I like them. 8-)

I would never use one due to my paranoia of causing any muzzle damage to the barrel. YMMV.

They are great. Use them on my large pistols. Saves tons of space. Super strong and thick rubber coated it?d cost you more to make than buy

No, I prefer soft cases. Stacked, with a tag on the zipper.
