I am LOVING this whole thing where the kids are grown and I'm not doing EVERYTHING for the holiday events. My sister in law has kids that are the same ages as mine.....27, 25, 23. So, because some are married and some are away at school its REALLY hard to arrange dates that everyone is available. Its early, but we had Thanksgiving yesterday with Larry's parents because this was a day all the kids, wives, husbands and such could do it.
Three grandsons were there.....6, 4 and my 1 year old grandson. We had a visitor family attend which added an extra 3 people....making the group a whopping 30 people. We had it outside and it was PERFECT. The kids ran around playing the whole time.
My favorite part of this whole thing was the part where my kids were responsible for themselves....they found out the times to get there, brought a dish that was choreographed by my sister in law. I didn't do a thing that didn't pertain to myself. It was amazing. I'm guessing this is what its like for a nudist colony person when they get to the colony on the first day......not having to find socks, pants or anything....just that solitary towel.
I brought the honeybaked ham and a couple turkey breasts.

spoiling the grandkids and then letting your kids take them home is what grandparenting is all about.......
