Need to get rid of some fired brass. Anyone know what the rough going rate of bulk 40 S&W and 38 special are? I have about 1800 38's, and about 2500 40's. Wanting to get rid of them locally for cheap...TIA

Might wanna check with you local recycling place. Here it's about $1.60 to $1.70 lb. Should get more on the auction side. Reloading seems to be kinda shinny right now with the very low ammo prices.

I have 17 5 gal buckets full of most calibers. Got them for trading material.

I was thinking about just recycling them, but wondered what they would be worth if I took the time to sell them,

might not get much if anything for the 40 cal, but I used to bag 38's up by the hundred in ziploc bags and sell em at the gunshows for $5-10 a bag

Brass is a very hard item to move. Especially 40 cal brass, But there are a few guys who advertise at the gun show who buy fired brass. Not sure what they pay. The are the bulk reloader outfits. Should be more than what scrap yard pays, Look into that before you head there.

Scrap yard gave me $30 for around half a HD bucket. All clean cases as to junk, sand etc. .69c/lb or .79
