At least he will take installments.
I think he pulled it out of his behind, but you never know. While totally cool, and if they are authentic they will bring a handsome price for sure. But a million and three quarters? Well I don't know about that.........
Seriously though that is a lot of cake for 2 guns. I think I would split them up and sell them individually and I would try to provide more provenance maybe through some "Experts" or from the Cody museum.
Nice looking old rifles though and I too am glad they were out there hunting.
you can't outbid selectfire?????? we have faith in you, you can dooooooo it........
Is the gas cap signed? If it is and another 10k to the price.
Yeah, but how much car wax ya got?
I have no clue what they'd actually sell for, but that sure seems way overboard. I'd think it'd be a long shot at half that price but what do I know? I would say that I would have tried contacting Winchester first to see if they were interested as well as get a few Winchester expert opinions documented as well. For all we know, they could have recycled the serial numbers though the proof steel language on the barrel definitely looks 30's.
Sorry, I'll try to refrain myself in the future.
I read it, Mike.

Had they been chambered .270 Winchester I'd own 'em.
Nobody uses bumper jacks anymore, so why in the world would you need a 270?
I have a pair of 9422's that have very low numbers with a letter from previous owner, he was the design engineer that worked on the development of the rifles and later became CEO of the company.
Nice rifles but the price is way too high. My 2 cents.
Honestly- If I could drop 1.7 MILLION on the two rifles I could probably afford to buy Winchester as a company in whole.
Sure, but would he pay?
