Here is a gun you don't see too often

I don't think I have ever seen one in the flesh so to speak. I have seen a boatload of Ruger 44 carbines but never an "International" one.

And this is a nice one:

I had a Stainless 10/22 International and I sold it. I just never shot it. I like Bolt, Lever and pump action 22's. I also had a M77 International in 308. It was a nice gun but not very accurate. I find the M77 Rugers to not be very accurate.

I always wanted one of the 44 Carbines but never bought one. I would like to have this one but it is out of my affordable price.

Here we go again. You posted about one gun and when looking at his offerings I put another one on my watch list.

I've got a couple of step grand sons. They are grown, they were about grown when I met them. So while I like them fine I didn't get them started when they were youngins. Anyway, I do try to get them things I think grand kids should have, even if they are grown. I've given them hunting knives, compasses, camping gear, lanterns, .22 rifles and some other like things. I've been considering getting them shotguns. I don't really think either of them are going to be hunters but a man should have a shotgun just because. So the two barrel 20ga set up would make a good starter shotgun for one of them. I have a Remington 870 20ga and an Ithaca 20ga pump I could give them. But I really don't think they will see much use so a cheap Mossberg set up would fit right in.

I would put my money here...

    Sweet lord.

    Mike

Had one like that but not that scope. The gun was super accurate but I shot the barrel out of it. I was young, a reloader and it was so fun to shoot I would carried away sometimes ;)

Great gun though and I love 22-250's

Or how about this understated vintage gem...

    Mike

I looked at that. When buying a small bore high powered rifle I want to look at the bore and chamber. So many have been shot out.

    +1 Scout

I have shot a few of them out in my time. Mostly it is throat erosion and once it gets so bad you cannot seat the bullet out far enough the only thing to do is replace the tube or cut a inch off,re-chamber and re-thread it and keep on trucking, I have done this several times.

Okay - will this satisfy you guys???

    Mike

    That is sweet.

Double set triggers and a 222 very nice.

Added: Those claw mounts would be spendy I bet.

I would go for the 22-250, scope is worth a bunch.
Oh wait I have a 40XB custom gun, was born a 222 Rem but shot out on P-dog hunts. It is now 220 swift, same barrel just re-chambered. shoots light out and has a Redfield 3200 20 X sitting in the rings.

You must have had the bolt face opened up too. The 222 rem bolt face is a lot smaller than a 220 swifts.

Those International as well as the Fingergroove Carbines have been going at 2 to 4x the cost of the standard ones. A standard one in this condition would probably be $650. They only made the International and fingergroove carbines from 66-68 if I remember right. I have an absolute mint Fingergroove model .44 carbine and a matching 10/22. There is an even more rare version of the already rare version which has checkering on the fingergroove stock. A friend of mine in high school had one of the F/G models and I loved the feel of it. I also liked it not having a barrel band; something that I haven't liked on any gun.

There is one that was at a small local gun show last time I went (about 9 months ago) priced at $800. Excellent but used, obviously cared for and not abused.

I have a '63 vintage carbine, love it. Traded my DM Guide signed by Gary Gygax and the cover art folk (Clyde Caldwell and Larry Elmore) for it straight up in the early 90s.. made the mistake of letting the then-girlfriend-now-wife shoot it and she thinks it is hers.
