Mike, I know you dig pretty deep into history of some of these old firearms and here is one for you. About five years ago a friend offered to sell me a Model 38 Winchester that belonged to his friend for $2,000. Now mind you I won't go near a 370,37A,Jap copy or even a 37 that's been tinkered with too much. Well, this '38 Winchester was a cock on closer with a slide safety and no hammer( cocking lever) identical to the '37 Win in all other ways. It was a proto type and I believe they only made four or five. Never went into production. I passed on the $2,000 deal because of being the stupid purist that I am and the gun sold for $6,000 a few weeks later!
Any more Odd Balls out there you guys/gals?

Got a Colt series 80 .45ACP Commander that was touched up by Ed Brown's shop when Ed used to work on customer's guns. She got a Mini-Comp before she came to me. Curious to know what she's worth. Oh they weren't much help being that the gun was modded in the early '90s and I got her about '04? It might be pimp if they'll engrave her.
After reading about Bravo's knee and then Great Gun's back I was about half afraid to open this thread!!!
