The deal is not set in stone yet? Will China fight back and drop USA from their list as being friendly traders? Hell we given them enough like our whole
US manufacturing job market for the middle class for the last 30 years plus free Military Technology as icing on the cake! :x

Senior Chinese diplomat Wang Yi spoke Friday at an annual symposium in Beijing on international affairs and said the US has severely damaged the hard-won mutual trust between both countries: "Such behavior is almost paranoid, and is indeed rare in international exchanges, seriously damaging the hard-won foundation of mutual trust between China and the United States, and seriously weakening the United States' international credibility."

TV news just reported a first step has been reached with China.

I didn't catch it all but something about XXXX million from China for relaxing the trade sanctions on some item(s)

Negotiations always move slowly when dealing with Asians from what I'm familiar with when in S.E. Asia in the mid 60's

"our" mutual trust depends on us sending them boatloads of money for chit no one really needs.........that could be made in the USA......don't u feel bad about upsetting the trade imbalance in their favor that has been in place for decades ????

China isn't the militaristic "elephant in the room" anymore(at least not as much as in the past when they sent human waves of troops against US). The average Chinese is about as "militaristic" as Joe the plumber and those civilians want to eat "western food" like meat and bread. The Chinese have been infiltrating our digital defenses for decades and most likely already have the technology to disable a big part of our "super techie" digital widgetry w/o sending waves of throw away conscripts against US.

The end result is China can't get too huffy or they risk going hungry. There's no other country on the planet that can provide the food it takes to satisfy the Chinese populace so after all the saber rattling and posturing, China will coalesce and cooperate--- Just my opinion.

The second deal must be struck first to lift tariffs? Double talk by politicians.

Stocks were trading at all-time highs Tuesday, until a news service headline said no tariffs would be rolled back until a second phase trade deal is stuck between the U.S. and China.

Analysts have said there could be some volatility around the release of the trade deal details. A deal that is very light on details with no teeth to stop trade abuses could potentially be seen as a negative. So stocks were rattled, when Bloomberg news service Tuesday afternoon reported that tariffs were not expected to be lifted until a phase two deal.
