Unusual Win 1890

I just acquired a 3rd version Winchester 1890 short that has a brass outer mag tube. My question is how common is this arraingment

    No clue, have never seen a brass outer tube on anything. Lots of inner ones were made in brass, aluminium and even steel. Could it be plated with brass or gold for a Bubba dress-up, try a magnet.

    I really like my modified 06. Much lighter than my 121 Rem., though the 06 is not as slick.

    To my knowledge, it's not factory, aftermarket or off another rifle.
