Payment processing for a one time sale?

What is the best way to handle payment processing for a one time sale?
I want my buyer to have some kind of buyer protection so that they can trust that they will be treated fairly.

I think that most of us started by selling inexpensive items at first, building up our positive feedback, &, after awhile, your reputation speaks for itself.
In the case of a new seller, all you can do is give enough information about yourself, & the item you are selling to make the buyer comfortable. Banks are not going to give you a one time only chance to accept a credit card.
Or, you could offer to give the buyer a photocopy of your drivers license. But, I wouldn't want to do that.

EDIT: If you want to avoid having to sell to a low ball bidder, just make your STARTING PRICE $1,500. You may even get that much. If not, relist it at a lower price, until you either sell it or see the wisdom of a consignment. I will be interested in seeing if you can work the "merchant for a month" method.
I have at most two guns to sell, maybe only one gun, a pre-ban UZI 9MM in excellent condition.
The serial numbers match: {gun / barrel and booklet} and it comes with the original case, also in excellent condition.
I really want to get the full market value. I have a 166 100% rating on ebay, 7 of these as the seller of certified rare coins. I was hoping to use Paypal and their buyer's protection . The next best thing is Visa and their buyer protection. I am very afraid that the "just trust me" price may be 25% of market value.

Well, a couple other things. You could put a reserve on your auction for the least amount you will take, and start it at a penny, and see where it goes.
Or, you could contact Ricci Wright, or Locust Fork, and have one of them sell it on a consignment auction. Both of these sellers post up nice auctions with lots of well done photographs. Both also have the knack of wringing top dollar out of their auctions. Just a couple thoughts.
I already have lots of well done photographs, that I posted in my last reply.
All that I really need is a way for someone to pay me that has buyer protection for them.
I was counting on Paypal for this.
Well correct me if I am wrong but Paypal would not be it. They will suspend your account for selling firearms if they were aware of such. So the "buyer" could not turn to them if there was a problem. Sell the thing on here at a minimum you would take and send it to the buyers dealer with a 3 day inspection.
Maybe I am missing something but,
That is why I said "was" instead of am. I really need to get full market value which is about $1500
Then you need to sell it locally. Market "value" is what it will bring on that particular day. May or may not be that much. And then paying fees... so imo you are at a high end at 1500 minus fees.
Locally only pays 62% of market value based on GunBroker.com recent sales.
It probably won't cost me $570 to be a Visa merchant for a month.
I give up- good luck whatever path you take.
