Got a sweet sixteen with serial @ X65429. Want to know date of manufacture and thanks

It is a Belgium
X prefix was from 1947 to 1953, yours was made in 1952.

If you will look up toward the top of the page there's a post "Gun Serial Numbers" and scroll down 2 pages and look at page 2359 and it'll show you all the serial numbers for all the Browning 16 ga. - light and standard weights. In 1953 Browning changed the Ser. No. alphabetic character to differentiate between Lightweight (Sweet 16) & Standard weight guns. In fact the Sweet 16 doesn't show up until 1953 with the prefix "S" the others without the S are standard weight. The Sweet 16 will also have "Sweet 16" engraved on the side of the gun. In 1957 - 58 the prefix was "A" for the Sweet 16 lightweight and "T" for the standard weight 16 ga.
I have a Sweet 16 that was made in 1954 serial no. S11600. My favorite semi auto shotguns.
