March 28 , 1984 , North Carolina South Carolina got hit with a string of 22 twisters. Killing 57 folks . I worked search and rescue for 3 days and nights . Then transitioned to helping to operate a disaster shelter for a couple of weeks . Floods are bad but you can see them coming and kind of prepare most of the time . In 84 it was like a bolt out of the blue. Most folks had little to no warning and were for the most part home and asleep when they hit our area . Still remember the devastation well
