How about setting up all of the quarantines in Mexico. That way if the disease spreads..well I reckon some Mexicans won't make it across the border.

how do you estimate the amount of active virus that comes in viable on freight of all kinds ????   bet congress says we still have to give them FREE medical ......do not let em step across...turn em around and drive em back ...fix their OWN country

Just what are you suggesting?

Took a bit of research but I found out that Mexico does have a national flu vaccine.  The latest figures I found were about 5,000 cases this year with about a 1.31% death rate.  Over the past few years started a mandatory child immunization program similar ours and greatly reduced child mortality rates.

I wonder whether Mexico vaccinates those from Central American countries waiting at the border with the USA.

Should this newer coronavirus get into Central America or the Northern tier of South/American  countries there might be a real high death toll.
