Ruger 10/22 magazine release

Many of the aftermarket trigger group replacements for the 10/22 have the wraparound (under trigger guard) magazine release.  I also see it as a separate part that can be added to the rifle.  Does anyone have any experience with this device leading to accidental release of the magazine?

I did have it on one of my 10/22's for a short period of time and took it off for that reason alone.  I dropped the mag a few times unintentionally.  All my 10/22s now run Pike Arms paddle style releases.

I have changed out  a few to the longer style extended , there is  several lengths and styles out there some only extend just a bit further than a stock release and a few to the under guard loop style your referring too I can see how they could get tripped by accident but  there   easy to change to what ever style you want , also I have changed out the bolt release to the  easier style  after market style I do like that upgrade also
tons of parts out there for a ruger 10-22 ,  for a long time it was my poor mans AR  to make changes too untill a few years ago when the prices dropped out the bottom for  mass produced AR style rifle parts

I have the Ruger extended trigger guard release on the build I did a year or so ago. Wasn't sure about it before hand but it was thrown in when I got the BX trigger here on GB. So far so good. It might be because it seems a little stiff to operate but it is working in with use. Only problem I had was I kept reaching for the old style release out of habit, but I never said I was too bright.:)  Bob
