2020 Census

Anyone know if the citizenship question is on the form? Just to be clear, if it isn't, I'm throwing it in the trash! Illegal aliens are just that, ILLEGAL, and I refuse to participate in a sham census! In 2000, I got a multi-page questionnaire asking a lot of, to me, very personal questions. I trashed it. Several weeks later, I got another one along with a letter telling me I could be fined $100 for not answering it. I sent it back blank, with a note asking where I needed to send the $100. Never heard from them again.

    Better question before they vote.

To the best of my knowledge the idiots in Congress mandated the citizenship question be left out. That might have changed.

Title XIII of the US Code dictates that all individual answers to the decennial Census or any ongoing Census Bureau survey are absolutely confidential, are to be used for statistics only, and cannot be shared with any other person or agency for 80 years.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

"Census Bureau survey are absolutely confidential, are to be used for statistics only, and cannot be shared with any other person or agency for 80 years."... and I believe our government.

The only info they get from me is the number in my house.

    Only 7 questions:
    1.  What is your name?
    2.  Do you live or stay here most of the time?
    3.  Besides here, what is the full address of a place where you sometimes live or stay?
    4.  What is your sex?
    5.  What is your age on April 1, 2020 and what is your date of birth?
    6.  Are you of Hispanic, Latino or Spanish origin?
    7.  What is your race?
I can't believe they misspelled "Pork and Beans!"

Doing research on my ancestors the Census records were extremely valuable. Identifying the Country they immigrated from and knowing when a person arrived and was naturalized were instrumental in finding additional records which often lead to more relatives names. The census is used to determine the number of legislators for given areas, we should not be giving additional resources to places that harbor criminals. Americans would be right to refuse to take a census that discriminates on Americans

I was appalled at the personal nature of the questions, such as: how much money do you make, what insurance do you have, etc. I am surprised they did not ask how much money I have at home and where do I hide it!

That is not a Census question.

I also did mine on-line last night in the motel room.

I was extremely offended they only gave me two choices on question 4.

I answered "American" on question 7.

I started the online form this morning. Once again they got past the number, I stopped. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, happens.

I just filled mine out on line. They don't ask how much money you make. They ask your name, age, race, sex, marital status, if you own your home, address and how many people live at that address and their names, age, race and sex.

I looked up my great grandpa's name on the 1910 census and found that they asked him for a lot more personal info than they asked me on this census.

last census about 3 forms came and then a young chap caught me at home and i gave him the minimum......dozens of personal questions about my life and finances    no way...what a waste of taxpayer money when we freely allow millions in every year with NO vetting

Some of you guys must lay awake nights trying to get mad about something. Breaking the law because someone else is not being asked if they are a lawbreaker seems backward. In what world do you think criminals would tell the truth anyway?

Hey Don, I noticed when I filled mine out that if you just keep hitting submit with blank information (I think you have to do it twice) that it will then move to the next question. It tells you at first that you must fill in xyz blank, but eventually it gives up and keeps going.

And on the race question, if you choose white (or Caucasian whichever it was), then they wanted to know from where. F if I know, F if I care. Everyone in my family was born here, beyond that, I have no further race answers.

We did the short version online. I don't see what has you guys' panties in a wad.
How many live here, how old, and what general racial origin. That's it. Hardly tapping into our bank accounts or asking how often we have sex.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

I went back and it was the short form. Interesting that you can’t ask about citizenship but have to answer male or female. Apparently the census bureau has not woke up.

Think I skipped the one about owning or owing on the house, but am not sure. Got a confirmation so it was accepted either way. Had the long form once and thought I was on the same path. Didn’t answer it 20 years ago and there wasn’t a follow up.

did the online deal this morning.  easy,  no intrusive questions.    took longer to find the log in code for the address on the paperwork then log in than it did to fill in the questions and submit.
