And also any gathering of over 100 people due to the pandemic scare. Ohio has several confirmed cases and some being tested.  :o

If the general public is stupid enough to not avoid large gatherings then perhaps we need a little more chlorine in the gene pool. The govt has turned into a baby sitter for the stupid and those with no common sense. The school break on the other hand makes sense because of the govt mandate for attending school needed to be waived officially. Bob

    Ya
I live in Ohio  I still think way over reacting ( of course I am not sick that may influence my view ) but just the basic comparisons with the flu  really make it look staged

This is going to become quite a burden on moms and pops that have to be out working!  A lot of juveniles without adult supervision.  I will admit that our schools are the leading source for the spread of most germs that are going around.   The few times I have caught colds or flu were after visits from my grandkids.

It's all about CYA....once the panic starts no politician wants to be perceived as being behind the curve.  Dems are doing everything to turn this COVID panic into being Trump's responsibility, and they've created a situation now where the most extreme actions are being taken, which forced Trump to ante up, other wise the media have "evidence" that he didn't do enough.   It will continue to get even more ludicrous over the next few weeks.

They have managed to put the elderly generation into a total panic.  My father, who is a retired physician is in asst living with my mom who is on the alzheimer's path.  He is quite worried and stressed about this disease, I assume part of it being old age and senility, and feeling completely vulnerable, but I've never heard him so worried before.  Just the stress of the media may kill him.

I hear you shilowar!  I have an older brother in a local nursing home after he suffered a bad stroke a little over a year ago.  Yesterday the home announced that they were closing all visitors coming into the place, including all family members.   Without family support I can see him going down hill very quickly!

I'm on the north coast of Ohio and remember thinking last week or so before we had any cases reported here that there were probably 1000 people who have it and just don't know it yet. Of last report, there was 4 confirmed cases (3 in Cuyahoga Co and 1 in Stark Co). While I am concerned about the virus and really hope that it is brought under control, I fear it no more than any other flu. This does not mean I have no sympathy for those who contract it and if I had to guess, I'd say there's probably going to be a 50/50 chance that once this is said and done that many of us will know someone infected. Some folks might even die from it. All that said, I still don't care to the extent that people are panicking, the media is freaking out, and the Politicians are using it as a partisan tool. I just don't care. I will take the same precautions I would any other time and if I run out of TP, I will use a rag and wash when done. If I do get the Wuhan Virus, at least I live in a country that has a health system (as messed up as it can be) that is more than adequate to to deal with it.  Erring on the side of caution is one thing but I just don't understand the mass closings and cancellations. But I never claimed to be a smart person, so maybe I'm just a denier.

Wow.. I am wondering by Monday if more will follow. This won't be good for the economy with children not being fed breakfast , lunch and sometimes supper.

Oregon is closing K-12 for the next two weeks and has banned all gatherings of over 250 people.
    Interesting times...

This is a manufactured crisis designed my the media to promote Big Gov and the (D)'s.  Think back to 2009 and the swine flu..........700K-1.4 Billion Infected and 150k-550k deaths.  Remember this was used to promote barry's healthcare plan.

I was in the DR Congo when this was going on and I had no problem flying back to the states.

I heard on the news this morning that there was a case in Trumbull Co. where I was born. Thats in NE Ohio next to Penn.

Hadn't heard of the case in Trumbull, @Bubba Jr. . I'm very familiar with that area, have lots of family there as well as in Mercer & Lawrence counties in PA.

Ignorant over-reaction that will cost more hardship that it prevents.

Politicians of all stripes are going off the cliff and imposing their stupidity upon us all.

Screw hoarding TP.  Time for pitchforks and torches.

Michigan is following suit with the K-12 school closings starting this Monday for the next 3 weeks.  Most, if not all of our colleges are doing classes online. For how long I do not know.
