The panic is unreal

My best friend and his son is down here for a week of shooting and fun at my house.  We decided to go do the China Buffet thing for dinner last night.  None of us worry about the panic over Covid.  We had our dinner and went to Walmart for a few items.  WALMART WAS OUT OF TOILET PAPER!  I don't need any, I order 96 roll cases and keep stocked up, but people were in a panic over stupid toilet paper.  This is a self feeding panic that is hurting our nation.  Folks need to take a chill pill and stop getting their news on facebook.  I can't imagine how bad it would be if there was a real emergency across our lands....

@bpost , I think you do, and so do the rest of us!!  ;)
Sad and a bit scary, huh?
Enemies of armed self-defense focus on the gun. They ignore the person protected with that gun.

In a "real emergency" it won't be the emergency itself that causes the most problems.
I'm not discounting the possible seriousness of this "pandemic" because we've not seen the end by a long shot. I'm far better prepared to deal with a Zombie horde spreading across the land than with my own incapacitation,  high fever, and dehydration.

We were talking at the shop last night. How ignorant people are with this. Buying bath tissue by the case "because" that's what the faceboof crowd is  pushing that people need? For what?  Are you going to eat because they might have a can of tuna and some frozen dinners in the freezer. IF, something really did happen the USA would turn to chaos, literally.

So many people nowadays do not cook much or keep food in the house.. we keep 2 pantries and 2 freezers and rotate stock.. started that years ago when we kept a house full of different kids and it just became habit.. When there is a problem they panic because they have nothing in the house to fall back on. The one that surprised me was the run on ammo locally , I order most ammo online by the case so always have plenty,, why would anyone own a firearm and not keep enough ammo ??

My new dark fantasy is to hear about idiots starving to death surrounded by toilet paper.
The Gene Pool needs a huge dose of chlorine.
I'm thinking of sponsoring a gun trade in program:
One roll of toilet paper for every gun.

I tried to explain that to one of the others on here the other day. He didn't think the President was being alarmist enough in his talk to the nation about the virus. Most so called news pundits said he was to calm about this CRISIS! Trump is trying to calm people down and the media is trying to make them panic. I guess responsible journalism doesn't get good enough ratings. Any guesses when the first fear driven riot occurs? Bob

It is sad and scary to watch this panic.  What if a real emergency hit our country?  It looks like we would collapse.

Yep.  This "test run" is going very badly.
