The Corona virus hit home yesterday.

Got a phone call from work yesterday at the hotel. Told me to stay home until they call me back which is when ever. The hotel restaurant is going to a fully prepared single serve breakfast. That means there are no dishes, cups or silverware, they are cooking nothing which means they have nothing for me to do. My daughter is still working in the kitchen because she runs it. Now the schools here are closed which means no picking up the grand kids nor is the wife working.  The high school bowling season ended last week so I have absolutely nothing to do.  Up until this point I was busier working 3 part time jobs then when I was working full time. As bad as it is for some I could get used to this for awhile.

On a side note I'm 68 years old have diabetes and COPD and a host of other things wrong with me so I guess I'd be in the susceptible class to contact it. We have about 20 cases in Kilwaukee right now. Maybe this will go on for some time and they'll cancel the DNC convention here, that would be fantastic.

I thought that you were a retired (last year) city/municipal worker? If I am mistaken about that, my apologies. Regardless, you would be susceptible to any flu. Stay home!

This virus is going to have long term impacts on all of our lives.  Hunker down, wash your hands a lot and staying away from people is about all we can do.  I have hundreds of hours I can spend sorting brass, polishing it and reloading everything from 9MM to 45/70's.  If we close down I have enough cash in the safe and enough in savings to get by for a long while.  You need to be cautious and keep yourself safe!!!

My sister is on a paid furlough from her job until May 1.  Her daughter is a Delta Flight Attendant, she's essentially been laid off for 1-3 months, on a unpaid furlough.  My wife is going to telework three days a week.  They are changing how we do things,  misdemeanor complaints can be handled by phone, restricting courtesy services, no more ride alongs, recommending officers not enter homes unless it's an emergency situation, and providing masks and tyvec suits if we have to transport a sick arrestee.  We have not had a positive case in this area, closest is two hours away. But when we do they will really lose their minds around here.  It's going to get expensive quick if a positive case ends up in police custody.
