Secret to long life, really

It's mowing your own grass.   I have no idea how many times I've been caring for an elderly, as in 80+, sometimes even 90+, patient and they tell me "can you believe I still mow my own grass".   They are very proud of that fact, and they should be.   Of course the secret is that they stay busy and active.   So I like to say the secret to a long life is mowing your own grass.

All that time wasted when we were mowing grass, we could have been fishing.

Hey, I'm 84 and resemble that remark.  I have about six acres to mow and still do it myself.

If that's a walk behind mower I'm impressed. Riding mower, not so much.

My maternal Grandma made it to 90 and enjoyed her Camels most of her life.  She was a real hoot to be with and could cook a great meal out of just about anything.  Sure do miss her!

Agree, that is secret to long life. Dad was medic WW2 and loved to fix up his old tractors and cut the three acres. He even carried the oxygen bottle on tractor with him at 88 when he passed in 2011. I got tired of fixing his old tractors up and bought him a new one a year before he passed. At least he still had his three acres to cut. He would have lived to be a hundred but they pushed him out of hospital to nursing home for rehab where double pneumonia took him away.

I suppose the true key to a long life is to avoid dying for as long as possible.

I'm still impressed you do 6 with a rider, walk behind would be more like Superman

That's generally the way it happens. You stop moving or staggering around and put one hand over your heart and reach for the sky with the other hand and say "This is the big one Lisbeth, I'm coming to join you honey"
