well over 70 before noon, calling for mid 40's tomorrow.  since nice went and got mower out of building , had jump battery and air a tire, got it going and ran it around yard to charge the battery a little, got in some leaves and thought might as well mulch em, turned on blades and the god awfullest noise came out of deck, so shut off and headed for garage.
figuring the worst, maybe the electric clutch had gone bad, I rangled the deck out from under it, started it up and hit pto, no noise and it kicked in, this is not my luck, new pto over $300. so turned the deck over and one of the blades was loose, turns out it had worn the star patter off the end of the shaft and was spinning/wobbling freely. put a couple washers on it to raise blades up into the star teeth and it was good to go, spent few hour cleaning it and greasing everything I could twist this ole body around to get to.  one spindle took a hole tube of grease!
getting it off was easier than back on, can't really bend over like I used to with the hip issue so laying on creeper trying to get it raised and hooked back up was a 5 minute job that took about 45. power washer crapped itself but is about 15 year old craftsman, and replacement pump gonna be around $150. while at rural king getting more grease looked over in the tool aisle at there presure washers, they had a powermate 3100psi, think it is made by coleman for $379, discontinueing  it, marked down $199. they had 6 left so I brought one home, figured I got lucky and saved that much on the mower, put it together and it made quick work on the mower an deck.  it is an old simplicity broadmoor at least 15 maybe 20 years old, after a quick wash it looks allmost new!!   just wish I could say the same, I am so sore I'm not sure I can get out of the recliner........
