I spoke with a friend who owns a small grocery store.  Last week in one day they did $60,000 of sales and $59,000 of that was in CC's.  All I am seeing on the news is more and more people losing their jobs.  How are they going to pay for all of the charges on
those CC's?  I mentioned to someone, the bankruptcy attorneys are going to busy when this is all over.

This is a good thing.  Less physical things going hand to hand...  and most stores have CC readers that the customer never lets go of the card.
On the flip side - once everything shuts down a lot of folks will be buying from other non commercial folks.  And just think of the private firearm sales that are going to surge!  I’ve got cash in the safe that’s been there for over a year and a dozen CCs with zero balance.  We should all be prepared...

No money at banks for business. Went and got a withdrawal I had ordered for a week. Called them Weds. afternoon. After 12 Thurs could be picked up. Went there at 1.30 and had to wait.. 25 mins for them to " go get it ". Total BS was not a large large amount.

Last week I added over $10,00 cash to my private stash.  There are reports that over 1 million deaths could be involved before the cv is over.  The plastic is gonna wer thin long before things cool down and I think cash will be king.

That's one thing that would make some sense. Paper money is more contaminated with germs of all kinds than a toilet seat. At least a toilet seat gets cleaned from time to time. Money does not.

virus is only supposed to stay on cardboard for 24 hours, can't see paper being much different......... worst case they don't use what they take in today for a day or so, make change with older money that was put on hold for day or so

I mentioned that this would be a great time for Uncle Sam to decide all cash is contaminated and everyone has to put it in the bank or it is worthless, No way in hell the drug dealers and other illicit cash hoards could be laundered that quickly, Uncle Sam gets a cash free society much easier to track and tax, cash hoarders who can't deposit it without tipping source will lose billions. And as for having old cash how are you going to prove its clean?
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

That was done in  Rome Italy during WW II with occupation military money.Priest came  in with 100,000 dollars ten minutes before  the deadline, claimed that the cash was put in the offering box. I think I posted about infective cash on politics section but there may be others.
This is nothing new to flush out cartel money in the black market if they go cashless,In fact I bet it happens now  more than ever with the Debt being increased another 2 trillion to save the system from a collapse.
