Food & Supply Rationing

Anyone consider cutting back a bit at the dinner table to stretch the supplies a bit?  Using smaller amounts of daily necessities like tooth past, shampoo, paper towel, dish and laundry soap?

For me, now would be a good time to lose a few pounds anyway. Put on my usual 10 during these winter months and have been thinking about doing just one meal a day for a while.

2000 calorie limit a day would do me good.

I'm actually eating healthier. I can cook, I just don't like to do it. There are no more restaurant meals, and with frozen foods in short supply, I'm forced to turn on the regular oven instead of using the microwave. I'll bake a whole chicken tonight and have a fresh green salad. Rice is scarce, and I'm not a big fan of potatoes or corn, so out goes the starch...which will do me nothing but good.

Wife is a hoarder I've given her a hard time about it but currently we are in excellent shape with supplies. She hasn't been working so she is cooking, we are saving a ton of money not eating out or going out for drinks.  My only worry is if it continues south I have to look out for my Mom and daughters and then I might run short but they are welcome to what we have.  I tilled my garden Friday, planted a few things and started some seed.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!
