I must say that moving, measuring, and cutting and fitting white oak stair treads on two stair cases is likely the only workout a person would need. I think every muscle group is involved. Each tread weighs close to 20lbs and with 13 treads per staircase and two spares that's 560 lbs to move around and between floors. It am beat today.

There are only two construction jobs that are worse, IMO, roofing and hanging sheetrock on a vaulted ceiling without a lift.

ETA and I should specify, there are a lot of construction jobs that I find undesirable (fixing sewer lines, for example) but these three are probably the most physically demanding I have ever done, and I've done just about everything.
