Amazon just now announced it has booted over 4000 venders from selling on their site and removed over 1/2 million listings for price gouging high demand items during the Chinese virus crisis and with more to go.

Amazon has also announced a dedicated team to inspect all listings to permanently remove the gougers.

Way to go Amazon!


Its about time, lets hope other websites follow .

    Amazon don't like competition or profiteers other than themselves. Besides this will give their drones I mean dedicated employees a breather so they can work their usual 12 hour shift in 8 hours relative pace.

    Please. Just don't. You have no idea how horrible of a company is to their third party sellers. The "price gougers" were chinese who were selling masks. (I sold over 17,000 masks in the last month on amazon, so I know what I'm talking about here.)

    Within hours, the "gougers" were back on amazon.

    If you are in the USA/other civilized countries, it takes an act of congress to get a second amazon account if your first one is kicked off. In China, you simply use a new name, and sign up. No proof required. That is directly from my Chinese suppliers mouths.
    Amazon accomplished NOTHING, except they got their name in the news.
    Anyway, Amazon sucks now. I've been on Amazon since 1997 or so, and it is crap now.

    It saves having to drive and enter a store.

    Also like the fact they fixed a problem without government mandating.

    I'm not a fan of Amazon because I know several retail store owners that have had horrible experiences with them.    I saw something on the TV once where a guy explained how they have an algorithm running that keeps up with what sells great on their website and they will go to the manufacturer and get a deal for tons of that product and sell it themselves....cutting out the guy that did all the original work.    

    I shop a "bit" on there, but I don't like to if I can buy whatever it is locally.
