A trip to town for a few supplies....Wal-Mart experience

William81William81 Member Posts: 25,482 ✭✭✭✭
Decided to take a drive to town today and find a few items and just to get out of the house....Our local WallyWorld is doing the Sr. Citizen thing on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 a.m.  We arrived just as it opened and I dropped my bride off and went and parked the truck.

The lady at the door pointed out to my bride it was only for folks over 60, so that made her day.
The young lady questioned me also when I walked in....I just laughed and said thanks as I walked by...I got eyeballed by some older folks...sort of sad and funny at the same time......

So the report, NO TP (didn't need it)...NO Cereal of any maker (didn't need it either)  No Hand sanitizer and limited soap of any kind (didn't need that either)   They did have distilled water for my CPAP so that was good.

I did buy some brats and burgers as the weather should grant me an opportunity to grill up a few good meals this week.  Finally I hit the sporting goods section and got some crappie jigs and spinnerbaits for some fishing soon.
They did have some buckshot and CCI Mini-mags so you can never have enough of those.....

Not a bad trip, even if it was Wal-Mart.  Little choice in my area right now as the next town over is now shut down.

Hope you all have what you need or can get it without much issue.....Take care when you head out...

Better that greeting rather then "Can I get you a wheel chair" ;)

At my local grocery Senior Hour, I just pointed to my full head of silver and said "ID". The lady laughed and waved me in.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

We order on line and pick it up in the parking lot.  Don't have to go in and hang with the old folks.  I don't like old people anyway, that is why I hang with Wundudnee.

Showed up at WM Tuesday morning at 0600, more out of curiosity than need. Surprisingly they had just about everything, TP, bread, water, soup. It wasn't all the brand or style I might have wanted but it was there. Sometimes being 61 is good. Sometimes.

Hate going into Walmart. Love using their app, shop online, show up and they bring it to the car. I have more important sh*t to do that be inside Walmart with the great unwashed for a few hours.

Was in Walmart in Harriman, NY three nights ago and two very large cabinets of ammo empty. Only a few boxes of .410 left.

Picked up a receiver at my FFL's house yesterday and he claims can't find guns or ammo anywhere. Was it the Virus or King Cuomo's fireside chats that took folks over the edge. If his fireside chats will save lives more power to him. Those of us that have worn his yoke of oppression know that he is a Wolf in Sheep's clothing. Look out Biden and Bernie, here comes President Cuomo.

He Dog - ruger41  - Almost as they planned it from the beginning. Like they knew this was coming down the pipe. Now if they had a pick up area like OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware) with a covered drive through one would be very suspicious.

I used to get comments that I looked much younger than I was.  All that has since caught up with me!  These last 5 years have aged me 25! :#

I do like Home Depot.  I can raid the Garden Center for yard plunder without ever going into the building or getting near anyone.  Better than donuts.
