Damage control is in effect, money and trade to stay in office comes to mind,The Chinese can do nothing to stem the tide of the pandemic, maybe more respirators that however is a ban aid not a cure,I guess the 5g war is over. Now it's Humpty Dumpty time now.

NBC News reported Wednesday that the Trump administration was pushing the U.N. Security Council to recognize the Chinese origins of the coronavirus in a joint declaration, something that enraged Chinese diplomats and triggered a stalemate within the global body.

According to China's state-run Xinhua News Agency, during the call Xi emphasized that the disease was a common enemy to mankind and disregarded national borders and races, calling for the international community to work together to beat the virus.

This will be, as it always has been, up to the American consumer.  If we decide to go back to our old buying habits, nothing will change.  That said, there are federal powers regarding strategic materials.  Hopefully pharmaceutical companies will begin producing a  much greater amount within the US.  If not, there would be reasonable cause for federal action.
Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.
