With the recent times, and the social distancing/stay at home orders, wife and I decided to start doing some stuff around the house. One of the tasks was some interior painting. For the last year or so, I would wake up at night with my right hand feeling numb, but just figured that I laid on it wrong and it went to sleep. With the recent painting activities, my right hand and forearm are tingling most of the time. There was one day that I didn't do much of anything because it was so numb I didn't feel like it was even mine. By the symptoms, I'm guessing this is what is bothering me. Anyone else dealt with this?

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Is there any ache or radiating pain, maybe muscle spasms, that accompanies the other symptoms?
Grow a set and make her paint. Jk

Had carpal release surgery in 2008-2009. Left hand first and right hand 6 weeks later. Worked out very well. I waited too long and wasn't able to regain full strength but that may be in part, due to my age and arthritis.
DO NOT have both hands done same time unless you look forward to having someone feed you, brush your teeth, and wipe your butt. I'm moderately ambidextrous and got along fairly well except for handwriting which I didn't need much at the time anyway.
For many years my family doc treated me for it. Finally got tired of steroid shots wearing off and saw orthopedic doc. During exam he had ne bend my wrist. When he felt/heard the pop he sent me for x-ray....bone spur. Tendon was catching on it creating the numbness, tingling and loss of feeling. Surgery for bone spur was a success.
In mid December I let the VA replace my right hip and I still have not recovered completely........foot drop....I got the 1% complication.
Your mileage may vary...................but do the carpal tunnel release. It will change your life.
Doctor: Well stop doing that...........carpal tunnel is mainly a condition exacerbated by repetive movement somewhere along the line, you have overdone some movement to the point of aggravating the tendons and ligaments around the joints which in turn aggravates the nerves. stop the repetitive movement and do therapy and you might cure things if you have the time and inclination. ignore the rest and the nerve pressure will return.
