Ohio Politicians Let Us Down Again

Ohio has had a history of weak-willed, wanna-be Republican politicans selling out sportsmen and the 2nd Amendment for years.  For example, we had a Republican governor several years ago that allowed the Amateur Trapshooting Association pack up and move to Illinois.  That organization had been an important part of the shooting sports in Ohio and nationally since the 1920s.  Governor Bob Taft, the son of Mr. Republican, wouldn't even take a meeting with them to see about keeping them in Ohio.  That loss cost the state and its residents over a hundred million of dollars since then in lost business!  Now the bright lights that run the state and the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources have decided to tuck-tail and run from Blumberg and his minions.  A couple of years ago the ODNR decided to use of the fed. tax money from sales of ammunition to rebuild and improve the ranges the state owned.  These ranges had been in operation for decades, most constructed on a wing and a prayer with a little state money and a whole lot of volunteer help and materials.  After nearly two years of construction on these projects, the ODNR recently announced that they have been "delayed indefinitely" and, while refusing to comment further, directed all inquires to their lawyers.  Well, Blumberg and his anti-gun groups just proudly announced that they had stopped "the wasteful spending of tax dollars on lethal gun ranges."  A week or so ago the only real state-wide pro gun group posted a little disclaimer that they really didn't know what was going on but, not to worry, they were sure it would all work out and all those vicious rumors were only that rumors.  Well, once again, it seems pretty clear from Blumberg that its really not a rumor any more.
