It's just a mask, why do you want grandpa to die? (green font)

In 4 months, the U.S. transformed into an obedient socialist country. Government dictated what events are acceptable to attend. Violent protests that instill fear are OK but church services, family funerals and patriotic celebrations are dangerous. And you bought it without a fight.

Standing in a graduation line is a "safety hazard". Small businesses were forced to close but crowds to support the corporate money machine at WalMart, Lowes and Home Depot are OK.

Come on. It's "just a mask" & "safety precautions".

How about a little hush money. Here's $2,400 that we stole out of your pay check in the first place. Enjoy. Buy something with it. From a big corporation.

Cash is now “dirty” and we can't give change, because that’s also “dirty”. There's a fake coin shortage. Use your card. In 4 months, they convinced you to use a traceable card for everything.

In less than 4 months, government closed public schools then "restructured" education under the guise of "public safety". These teachers now refuse to go back to work unless certain demands are met, despite their constant campaigning for raises for their craft. In less than 4 months, our government demonstrated how easily people assimilate to "guidelines" that have NO scientific premise whatsoever when you are fearful.

In less than 4 months, our government successfully instilled fear in a majority of the population in America that allows them to control every aspect of your life. Including what you eat, where you go, who you see and your toilet paper.

And the most dangerous and terrifying part? People are not afraid of the government who removed their freedom. They're afraid of their neighbors, family and friends.

And they hate, humiliate, and cancel those who won't comply.

It's absolutely terrifying to me that so many people don't question "authority". They are willing to surrender their critical thinking skills and independence. They just... gave up without thinking. Without a fight.

Do you know what's coming next?
"It's just a vaccine. Come on. It's for the greater good".

Wait until you're told that you can't enter any store or business without proof of the Covid-19 vaccine. Wait until you can't go to public events or get on a plane without proof of receiving the vaccine.

To everyone that doesn't believe this is possible - DO YOU UNDERSTAND that government successfully dictated to people WHEN they were allowed to be outside, where they were allowed to go, and how their children would be educated in less than 4 months? And that a majority of the population followed blindly because they were told to do so.

You're kidding yourself if you think this behavior won't be repeated with a vaccine. Or whatever the next step is.

"I don't follow politics."
"Who cares about that stuff?"
"I don't like to think about it."
6 million Jews were exterminated in Germany because 97% of the population cowered to populist control. Nobody wanted to think about it. It's easier to just ignore it.

But that couldn't happen here, right?

They got you. Without a thought. Without a fight. Just like France. Just like Russia. Just like China. Welcome, comrade.

Sorry I didn't post on your thread sooner MrMag00. I've been busy sharing it with a couple dozen folks.
    Hope that's OK.

Here is a video explaining how and why the mask shaming is working.

"99% won't get it", where have we heard that before? Whatever happened to him?

Population will eventually get fed up with the "government controls" and revolt again just like 1776. Keep your powder dry friends and countrymen. Get out the vote for Trump 2020.             B)
I think you just contradicted yourself. Trump is our current "government controls."  ;)
Really?  Trump doesn't wear a mask 99.9% of the time.
It is very apparent, it's the liberal communist media and the crazy medical industry that have convinced most mayors and governors (many liberal democrats) to FORCE compliance.  The President has never imposed such on the Federal level.
No, he missed that opportunity to help (read: save) the country by giving his take on the virus and by doing virtually nothing, too little, too late at best. Now over 141,000 have died because bad information followed an incorrect personal opinion. As to him never imposing what you view as a violation of power, I view sending "brownshirts" to Portland and now Chicago as overstepping his power.
You seem to think about things, Jim, and don't jump lockstep with either extreme.
I have tried to look into the timeline of this virus and find where Trump, or anyone for that matter, did not do what would have been logically expected at the time.  A possible exception is the decision in a couple of Northeast States to send Covid positive folks back to nursing home after the crap-show in Washington State, but I would not at this point go so far as to state anyone has blood on their hands.

If you could take a few minutes and state the logical path that was missed by the Federal Government with contemporaneous knowledge, I would be interested.  Virtually all of my more liberal friends can only state: 'Trump didn't act fast enough and people died.'  Have yet to hear specific actions that should have been taken by the Feds that were not taken.

Good to see that Jim is taking the time to research the timeline.

Looking forward to an informative post.

I had hoped for better, but it seems there we will not hear from Jim on this one.

In another post he had stated that we should have stopped all international travel when the first death in America was confirmed.  This may, in retrospect, be a feel good response, but lacks practical effect as the virus was already here and was going to spread.  It may have delayed it a bit, but considering we closed travel from China within 10 days of the first documented case in the US, and closed travel from Europe within 6 weeks, it is apparent that while it may have had a short term positive effect, long term there would have been little change.

He has also stated that right away a national protocol should have been instituted immediately.  This misses the obvious point that the US is an extremely diverse country and protocols in one area will not be applicable to others.  I guess one could argue that a complete nationwide shutdown and mandatory quarantine of all people would have slowed the spread, but the destruction of a country, IMO, is no way to combat a virus.

The downplaying of the virus by our leaders at all levels was perhaps a mistake in hindsight, but at the time we really did not know what this thing was going to do.  Federal intrusion at the levels some seem to think appropriate is distinctly anti-American, and frankly, as the science changed almost daily (understandable with a new disease) cannot be assumed to have been effective at all.  It may have slowed things initially, but as we see with the re-opening of the country, the virus would have still existed, and would a merely picked up when we opened as it has proven to have done.  Interesting to note that the hardest hit areas initially are doing the best now.  I know that community immunity is passe', but from an unbiased view, seems to be one thing that has been and continues to be effective.   We may have another year of this.  Seems silly to prolong it any longer than necessary, particularly when it doing potentially irreversible damage to our economy.

Hard to fault Pelosi for her comments at the time.

Hard to fault DeBlasio or Schumer for their comments at the time.

Pelosi's comments came roughly a week after it was recognized that the deaths in Kirkland, WA were due to Covid and not a seasonal flu as had been thought up until the middle of February.

Early on there were no right or wrong answers, as there were too many unknowns.  We need to remember that on 20 March, we had only 20,000 documented cases in the US and only 300 documented deaths.

Every politician can be excused for not knowing that this would become such a large issue.

It is for this reason that I think we all need to understand that politicians can only react to what is known.  Trump downplayed the virus when there were very few deaths.  In retrospect he may have been wrong, though he was correct is saying that it is dangerous to only a small percentage of the people in the US.  This was true at the time, and remains true today.

My preference in all things is local government first, and all government actions with as limited a role as possible vis-a-vis the rights and lives of their citizens.  Extraordinary actions with the goal to contain that which was and is not containable is a fool's errand but it makes some feel better.

I would disagree. There is plenty of information to support that what should have been done was not done. and still isn't done.

Then all you need to do is follow the money.  And to muzzle the president to me is a great sin and fraud on the American People. And Trump let them. Thus, he has now willingly and officially joined the swamp dwellers.  :(

So now the choice left to you is do you wish to be eaten by a python or alligator. I'm taking door #3

Here is an interesting video with a great backstory. Trump Jr got banned from twitter for posting it as well as quite a few other prominent Conservative Voices.

Banned from youtube, banned from facebook and twitter. I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but figured to post it before it gets taken down from here too.  The fact that the liberal 4th Reich is shaking in its boots is all the credibility I need to know at this time. I'll watch and form my opinion on the content here soon.
