And you have a bid. Congrats. Yes they are quite rare.

That 327 Fed Mag cartridge, came and went pretty quick. All the gun rags, and U-Tube shills. Puffed it up big time, when it first hit the street. I wonder if any of the manufactures, are still producing guns for it?

High velocity, around 1400 FPS, as I recall. Noise and muzzle flash, probably would make your eyes water. From a short barreled revolver. Shooting it inside for personal protection, you wouldn't even have to hit the perp. Between the flame from the barrel, and the muzzle blast. He probably keel over, with a heart attack.

I like the 327.  I have one in a Single Six and one in a Blackhawk convertible.  Shooting either with the 32 S+W or 32 S+W long is a great way to start a kid.

Rufe-snow summed it up perfectly.  Light off a 327 in a dark room and it doesn't matter if you hit or miss the intruder, the problem is taken care of.

Got to thinking, ( always dangerous). Since my last post. The revolver manufacturers screwed the pooch. In not making a  optional 30 Mauser, (7.62 X 25 ), cylinder available for their .327 Fed. revolvers.

The 30 Mauser is a hot round. With all the surplus East Bloc Tokarev's and CZ 52's floating around, the ammo is out there.  it would have been a neat option for the revolvers chambered in .327 Fed. I know I would have been more interested, in a revolver able to shoot 7.62 X 25. Than just .327 Fed.

I have a Ruger sp101 with 3" barrel.  I got it to teach women and children and you're right, it's really good for that.  I like it myself, it's a good shooting gun.  I'm considering a Ruger LCR in 327 for a pocket gun.

IMHO, what I believe the main problem as to what the 327 was never popular was because of a lack of selection of jacketed bullets.  Can almost say the same with the 32 H&R. Why are their no jacketed bullets around 125 gr?
There are few selections of the lesser weight bullets as well.

Cat bullets are no problem as far as availability but when pushed to magnum FPS, my experience has been barrel leading even with GCs and hard cast due to the small bore.

I have a Ruger LCR in .327.....Not really any more of a blast than a hot .357 from a short barreled revolver....i also have taught a couple folks to shoot using .32 S&W Longs....

Bottleneck rounds don't work well in Revolvers.

I hope someone outbids your current leader. Just because, it doesn't "smell" right to me. And with the influx of NPB it will be scary.

Noise and muzzle flash- that’s half the point!
  • badchrisbadchris Member Posts: 1,676 ✭✭✭

Yeah, agreed. That is a very poor choice for a user name.

Enemies of armed self-defense focus on the gun. They ignore the person protected with that gun.

I have wanted a blackhawk in 7.62x25 for years. A machinist suggested .30 carbine revolver with a 44 or 45 caliber cylinder sleeved to accept the round. Problem is I'm pretty sure those cylinders don't interchange.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

I have contacted Support.  I want to know how such a user name could even be approved.  I have  asked them to examine this yahoo's profile, and if it smells, to cancel his bids and block his bids from my auctions.  He could be someone I have offended in a previous life.

Might be the same guy, that Casey recently had problems with. Using a different, (really different!), bidder name. I tend to agree, No sincere bidder, would use a name like that.

I can't believe that a scammer, would use a bidder name like that though. To obvious! Probably one of the ANFA trolls, doing a little pot stirring.

With 24 hrs to go I hope you get more bids, making it a moot point! Best of luck. Bob

If he's a spoiler, and I think he is, he could have bid $10,000 on it, and be guaranteed the win.

UPDATE:  The suspicious bid has been removed by Support.  THANKS!

I'd still like to know who he is, and how he managed to get such an offensive user name.
