I swapped even, no boot, an AR I had right at $475 +- $25 in it, for a S+W model 25 in the 45 ACP. This 25 has been fired, but lightly. It obviously has a very low round count. No scratches, no blemishes of any kind, no box but if it had a box, you would have to remove it from the box to determine that it had been fired. It is that clean on the outside. It has a 5 1/2 inch barrel. No moon clips came with it. All that really counts is I'm happy with the deal but I think I made out like a bandit!!

I used to want a Model 25 in .45 Colt. Still do, in fact.
Great Trade ! I would do that one every day !!!
Thanks !!!
I Grew Old Too Fast (And Smart Too damn Slow !!!) !!! :?
You done really good
You doubled your money on that one.
Has the barrel been cut or was it special ordered with 5 1/2”? I thought the N frames all came with 3 1/2”(27’s) 4”, 6 or 6 1/2” and 8 3/8” and 10” for the Model 29.
They did offer 5” but I’ve never seen one in the wild. I’ve never seen a 5 1/2” for sale. Great gun though.
Second - Your post got me wondering about my 25-2 that is in the safe. The handy dandy tape measure says it's 5 7/8'' so I guess the 6" designation is just a ballpark figure but your 1/2'' variance seems like a lot. Any idea when it was made? Could it be something like a Lou Horton special run?
If you want to use it without the clips check into 45 auto rim. The auction side has both ammo and brass. Some days I was lazy and shot all auto rim instead of filling and then removing fired cases from the clips. With the ACP clips it is as fast as the best speedloader. Bob

Too many people get caught up in the "I got the best of that guy".
You got what you wanted and got rid of something you did not mind seeing go.
The other guy got what he wanted and got rid of something he did not mind seeing go.
I think you both got great deals.
You did very well. Just remember that the S&W's are loaded down as compared to Ruger's and T/C's.... I just acquired one of my grail guns a little while back, a S&W 625 in 45 Colt
28-2, or 25-2? Model 28's are the "N" frame highway patrolman in 357....Or a poor man's version of the model 27.....
I reckon you made at least $500. Pretty good return on $600 investment. After the "panic" you'll still be ahead.
Almost forgot. You did claim the rights of "no trade backs", right?
