Dog and horse have been fare throughout the world for centuries.   The men in the Lewis and Clark expedition ate dog meat they got in trade from the local natives while wintering along the Columbia River.    Here in North America  and most of Western Europe we turned away from dog quite some time ago and away from horses more recently.   When the expeditions exploring the Northern reaches of our continent left with 100 dogs and returned with just enough team to pull the sleds there was a reason.

I've never eaten dog, but then I've never been hungry enough to eat a dog.  Though as a kid there were a few times if you would have cooked one up I wouldn't have asked any questions.

Reading up a little bit seems there are a couple of reasons they are banning the ownership of dogs.   They have a real food shortage as an accumulation of different situations and events including flooding has limited their food supply.   Dogs have to be feed, with limited food it's going to be hard for people to keep their dogs feed.   They are probably using the dogs for food also.    I'm not addressing the right or wrong of it, just that it is.

    Spot on!
Exactly what the DEMOCRAT party wants for us:  An authoritarian government that can take our property away by executive fiat.
From the Intel here, the North Koreans are really upset about losing their pets but there isn't a dam thing they can do about it. They do not have a Second Amendment.

Take this a teachable moment for those who want DEMOCRAT in control.

Sort of like people along the Rio Grande losing their land so the guy in the Whitehouse can build a big ugly wall across it.

Remember that in Stalingrad (IIRC) during the Nazi siege the government order the killing of all dogs and cats because food was too short to leave any to feed dogs and cats.
So without the predators to keep them in check the rats and mice ate more than the predators could have.

Is the "Law of Unintended Consequences" a corollary of Murphy's Law???
